TL;DR: An improvement of SNR for SWPDT system with full-duplex communication mode with double-sided LCCL compensation topology and a novel data transmission based on the dual-resonant structure is proposed to suppress the ipsilateral interference.
Abstract: The power interference is always inevitable in the simultaneous wireless power and data transfer (SWPDT) system resulting in the lower signal to noise rate (SNR) and may cause the failure of communication. Besides, the interference between bidirectional data source is also the problem during the full-duplex communication. To solve these problems, in this article, an improvement of SNR for SWPDT system with full-duplex communication mode is proposed. In the power transfer channel, the double-sided LCCL compensation topology is selected due to its good performance of blocking the power interference on data transmission. Besides, the constant current characteristic of primary coil could guarantee the stability of power transmission. In the data transfer channel, a novel data transmission based on the dual-resonant structure is proposed to suppress the ipsilateral interference, and the full-duplex communication is achieved by two different frequencies. An optimization method of power and data transfer channel to improve SNR further is proposed after the analysis on interferences of power transmission and ipsilateral data source. Finally, the feasibility of proposed topology and the correctness of the parameter design method are verified by the simulation and experimental results.

TL;DR: In this article, a 7T 31-channel (31-ch) brain array was constructed and tested using combined Rx and ΔB0 shim channels driven by a set of rapidly switchable current amplifiers.
Abstract: Purpose To test an integrated "AC/DC" array approach at 7T, where B0 inhomogeneity poses an obstacle for functional imaging, diffusion-weighted MRI, MR spectroscopy, and other applications. Methods A close-fitting 7T 31-channel (31-ch) brain array was constructed and tested using combined Rx and ΔB0 shim channels driven by a set of rapidly switchable current amplifiers. The coil was compared to a shape-matched 31-ch reference receive-only array for RF safety, signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and inter-element noise correlation. We characterize the coil array's ability to provide global and dynamic (slice-optimized) shimming using ΔB0 field maps and echo planar imaging (EPI) acquisitions. Results The SNR and average noise correlation were similar to the 31-ch reference array. Global and slice-optimized shimming provide 11% and 40% improvements respectively compared to baseline second-order spherical harmonic shimming. Birdcage transmit coil efficiency was similar for the reference and AC/DC array setups. Conclusion Adding ΔB0 shim capability to a 31-ch 7T receive array can significantly boost 7T brain B0 homogeneity without sacrificing the array's rdiofrequency performance, potentially improving ultra-high field neuroimaging applications that are vulnerable to off-resonance effects.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of traffic-induced delay and dropout on the finite-horizon quality of control of an individual stochastic linear time-invariant system, where quality-of-control is measured by an expected quadratic cost function, are analyzed.
Abstract: Transmission delay and packet dropout are inevitable network-induced phenomena that severely compromise the control performance of network control systems. The real-time network traffic is a major dynamic parameter that directly influences delay and reliability of transmission channels, and thus, acts as an unavoidable source of induced coupling among all network sharing systems. In this letter, we analyze the effects of traffic-induced delay and dropout on the finite-horizon quality-of-control of an individual stochastic linear time-invariant system, where quality-of-control is measured by an expected quadratic cost function. We model delay and dropout of the channel as generic stochastic processes that are correlated with the real-time network traffic induced by the rest of network users. This approach provides a pathway to determine the required networking capabilities to achieve a guaranteed quality-of-control for systems operating over a shared-traffic network. Numerical evaluations are performed using realistic stochastic models for delay and dropout. As a special case, we consider exponential distribution for delay with its rate parameter being traffic-correlated, and traffic-correlated Markov-based packet drop model.

TL;DR: In this article, a non-contact digital imaging method with a laser generator and bandwidth filter is proposed to measure the continuous channel sagging in a uniquely designed test rig, which is used during the implementation of the present approach for sagging analysis at elevated temperatures.
Abstract: Whenever any engineering system comprising of an internally heated channel/tube is exposed to a severe thermal load, the sagging or deflection measurement becomes an inevitable task from its safety/design analysis perspective. As an example, in a horizontal-type nuclear reactor safety study, it is required to measure the sagging of the channels during a postulated accidental scenario analysis. Unfortunately, measurement of the transient deflection/sagging of the channel under a harsh environment at extreme temperatures is a challenging task, and cannot be performed by the means of conventional intrusive approaches. This study proposes a non-contact digital imaging method with a laser generator and bandwidth filter, which is tested to measure the continuous channel sagging in a uniquely designed test rig. A scaled-down channel setup simulating the horizontal type nuclear reactor is used during the implementation of the present approach for sagging analysis at elevated temperatures. A digital edge detection tool with the Canny method is used to extract digital edges from recorded grayscale images, wherein successive images are used to measure transient sagging. The results are compared with post-test channel deflection measurements, and the difference in measurement is found to be within ±10 percent of post-test deflection.
