TL;DR: In this paper, a large-scale, multisite study aimed at assessing the overall replicability of a single theoretically important phenomenon and examining methodological, cultural, and developmental moderators was conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tom Is Not More Likely to Imitate Lisa Than Ying: The Influence of a Model’s Race Indicated by Physical Appearance on Children’s Imitation
TL;DR: It is suggested that a pure difference in the model’s physical appearance might not be sufficient to elicit an in-group-out-group effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
A model's natural group membership affects over-imitation in 6-year-olds.
TL;DR: Investigating the role of the model's natural group membership in children's tendency to imitate irrelevant actions using a two-phase design found that children adapted their imitative behavior after observing the model of their own cultural group demonstrating a more efficient strategy.
