Relationship dynamics and dimensions of support for figure skaters and significant others : implications for schooling

TL;DR: In this article, a qualitative study explored perceptions of parents and coaches regarding the types of support they provide, and the perceptions of athletes (figure skaters) regarding the support they receive.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rapid changes in spectral composition after darkness influences nitric oxide, glucose and hydrogen peroxide production in the Antarctic diatom Fragilariopsis cylindrus

TL;DR: Testing the capability of three electrochemical microsensors to detect photosynthetically derived “stress” metabolites produced by the Antarctic diatom F. cylindrus indicates that rapid exposure to light and variation in spectral composition can cause significant stress that can be quantified using H2O2, NO and glucose micros sensors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Load Reduction Instruction in Mathematics and English Classrooms: A Multilevel Study of Student and Teacher Reports

TL;DR: Load reduction instruction (LRI) is a practical instructional framework aimed at managing the cognitive demands experienced by students as they learn as discussed by the authors , which comprises five key instructional principles: difficulty reduction during initial learning, as appropriate to students' prior learning, support and scaffolding, structured practice, feedback-feedforward, and guided independent application.

orthofind: a novel method for identifying functional orthologues

TL;DR: The orthofind method as mentioned in this paper identifies functionally equivalent orthologues in different species that is not currently met directly by protein sequence databases (e.g., KOG, Inparanoid, OrthoMCL).
Journal ArticleDOI

Patients' Preferences for 3 Months vs 6 Months of Adjuvant Chemotherapy for Colon Cancer.

TL;DR: The SCOT trial as mentioned in this paper was an international, randomized phase 3 trial of 3 months vs 6 months of adjuvant chemotherapy with oxaliplatin and a fluoropyrimidine in patients with colorectal cancer.
