TL;DR: A means by which individuals at highest risk of life-threatening COVID-19 can be identified is identified, and the hypothesis that neutralizing auto-Abs against type I IFNs may underlie critical CO VID-19 is tested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of High-Flow Nasal Oxygen vs Standard Oxygen on 28-Day Mortality in Immunocompromised Patients With Acute Respiratory Failure: The HIGH Randomized Clinical Trial.
Elie Azoulay,Virginie Lemiale,Djamel Mokart,Saad Nseir,Laurent Argaud,Frédéric Pène,Loay Kontar,Fabrice Bruneel,Kada Klouche,François Barbier,Jean Reignier,Lilia Berrahil-Meksen,Guillaume Louis,Jean-Michel Constantin,Julien Mayaux,Florent Wallet,Achille Kouatchet,Vincent Peigne,Igor Théodose,Pierre Perez,Christophe Girault,Samir Jaber,Johanna Oziel,Martine Nyunga,Nicolas Terzi,Lila Bouadma,Christine Lebert,Alexandre Lautrette,Naïke Bigé,Jean-Herlé Raphalen,Laurent Papazian,Michael Darmon,Sylvie Chevret,Alexandre Demoule +33 more
TL;DR: Among critically ill immunocompromised patients with acute respiratory failure, high-flow oxygen therapy did not significantly decrease day-28 mortality compared with standard oxygen therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this paper, a randomized controlled trial was conducted to test the hypothesis that a more-delayed initiation strategy would result in more RRT-free days, compared with a delayed strategy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Survival trends in critically ill HIV-infected patients in the highly active antiretroviral therapy era
Isaline Coquet,Juliette Pavie,Pierre Palmer,François Barbier,Stéphane Legriel,Julien Mayaux,Jean-Michel Molina,Benoît Schlemmer,Elie Azoulay +8 more
TL;DR: ICU survival increased significantly in the highly active ART era, although disease severity remained unchanged, and earlier ICU admission from the hospital ward might improve survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
ICU-acquired weakness, diaphragm dysfunction and long-term outcomes of critically ill patients.
Clément Saccheri,Elise Morawiec,Julie Delemazure,Julien Mayaux,Bruno-Pierre Dubé,Thomas Similowski,Alexandre Demoule,Martin Dres +7 more
TL;DR: ICU- Acquired weakness but not diaphragm dysfunction was associated with a poor 2-year survival of critically ill patients and health-related quality of life was not influenced by the presence of ICU-acquired weakness, diaphragem dysfunction or their coexistence.
