Spatiotemporal variation of PM1 pollution in China
Gongbo Chen,Lidia Morawska,Wenyi Zhang,Shanshan Li,Wei Cao,Hongyan Ren,Boguang Wang,Hao Wang,Hao Wang,Luke D. Knibbs,Gail M. Williams,Jianping Guo,Yuming Guo,Yuming Guo +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a spatiotemporal variation of PM (mass concentrations of particles with aerodynamic diameter 0.9) was observed in North Eastern China, North China Plain, coastal areas of Eastern China and Sichuan Basin while lower ratios (<0.7) were present in remote areas in North-Western and Northern China (e.g., Xinjiang, Tibet and Inner Mongolia).
Journal ArticleDOI
Indoor Air Quality in Naturally Ventilated Italian Classrooms
Fernanda Carmen Fuoco,Luca Stabile,Giorgio Buonanno,Concepcion Vargas Trassiera,Angelamaria Massimo,Aldo Giovanni Giuliano Russi,Mandana Mazaheri,Lidia Morawska,Alexandro Andrade +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the indoor air quality in six naturally ventilated classrooms of three schools in Cassino (Italy) was measured within school hours during the winter and spring season, and the authors found that the concentrations of indoor particle number were influenced by the concentrations in the outdoors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association between community greenness and obesity in urban-dwelling Chinese adults
Wen Zhong Huang,Bo-Yi Yang,Hong Yao Yu,Michael S. Bloom,Iana Markevych,Joachim Heinrich,Luke D. Knibbs,Ari Leskinen,Shyamali C. Dharmage,Bin Jalaludin,Lidia Morawska,Pasi Jalava,Yuming Guo,Shao Lin,Yang Zhou,Ru Qing Liu,Dan Feng,Li-Wen Hu,Xiao Wen Zeng,Qiang Hu,Yunjing Yu,Guang-Hui Dong +21 more
TL;DR: Higher community greenness level was associated with lower odds of central and peripheral obesity, especially among women, older participants, and those with lower household incomes, and these associations were partially mediated by air pollutants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ozone-Initiated Particle Formation, Particle Aging, and Precursors in a Laser Printer
TL;DR: This study significantly improved scientific understanding of the formation mechanisms of printer-generated particles, and highlighted the possible SOA formation potential of unsaturated nonterpene organic compounds by ozone-initiated reactions in the indoor environment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ventilation procedures to minimize the airborne transmission of viruses in classrooms
TL;DR: In this paper, a mass balance approach is used to quantify the ability of both mechanical ventilation and ad-hoc airing procedures to mitigate airborne transmission risk in the classroom environment, and a feedback control strategy using CO2 concentrations to continuously monitor and adjust the airing procedure is proposed.
