Progression of conventional cardiovascular risk factors and vascular disease risk in individuals: insights from the PROG-IMT consortium:

Martin Bahls, +60 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an individual participant meta-analysis was used to associate the annualised progression of systolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and high-density cholesterol with future cardiovascular disease risk in 13 prospective cohort studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hyperthyroxinemia is positively associated with prevalent and incident type 2 diabetes mellitus in two population-based samples from Northeast Germany and Denmark.

TL;DR: Positive associations of thyroid hormones with prevalent and incident type 2 diabetes mellitus are demonstrated suggesting that hyperthyroxinemia may contribute to the pathogenesis of this condition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mortality is associated with inflammation, anemia, specific diseases and treatments, and molecular markers.

TL;DR: It was found that in the Cox regression model based on the Bayesian information criterion, apart from chronological age of the participant, six baseline variables were considerably associated with higher mortality rates: smoking, mean attachment loss, fibrinogen concentration, albumin/creatinine ratio, treated gastritis, and medication during the last 7 days.
Journal ArticleDOI

Correction: Genome-wide physical activity interactions in adiposity - A meta-analysis of 200,452 adults.

Mariaelisa Graff, +280 more
- 23 Aug 2017 -
TL;DR: This research presents a novel probabilistic approach to estimating the response of the immune system to laser-spot assisted, 3D image analysis of central nervous system injury.
