The need for transparency and good practices in the qPCR literature

Stephen A. Bustin, +83 more
- 01 Nov 2013 -
TL;DR: Two surveys of over 1,700 publications whose authors use quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) reveal a lack of transparent and comprehensive reporting of essential technical information.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical use of HIV integrase inhibitors : a systematic review and meta-analysis

TL;DR: In first-line therapy, integrase inhibitors are superior to other regimens and careful use is however warranted when replacing a high genetic barrier drug in treatment-experienced patients switching successful treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultra-deep sequencing of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase before start of an NNRTI-based regimen in treatment-naive patients.

TL;DR: Using ultra-deep sequencing, recently more available and affordable, as a tool for the detection of HIV-1 minority species carrying drug resistant mutation (DRM) in a clinical setting, it could not confirm an association between the presence of low minority variants harbouring RT mutations at the start of therapy and primary or secondary therapeutic failure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantification of Integrated HIV DNA by Repetitive-Sampling Alu-HIV PCR on the Basis of Poisson Statistics

TL;DR: Poisson-based analysis of the Alu-HIV PCR data enables absolute quantification without the need of a standard dilution curve and provides a statistical basis for the required minimal number of technical replicates.
