Journal ArticleDOI
Genomic organization, promoter, amino acid sequence, chromosomal localization, and expression of the human gene for CORS-26 (collagenous repeat-containing sequence of 26-kDa protein).
Andreas Schäffler,A. Ehling,Elena Neumann,Hans H Herfarth,G. Paul,Ingo H. Tarner,J. Schölmerich,Ulf Müller-Ladner +7 more
TL;DR: The present data provide the basis for further investigation of CORS-26 gene regulation in the context of mesenchymal tissue development and in the pathogenesis of bone or skeletal disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of BI 655064, an antagonistic anti-CD40 antibody, on clinical and biomarker variables in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis: a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase IIa study.
Sudha Visvanathan,Stefan Daniluk,Rafał Ptaszyński,Ulf Müller-Ladner,Meera Ramanujam,Bernd Rosenstock,Anastasia G. Eleftheraki,Richard Vinisko,Alena Petříková,Herbert Kellner,Eva Dokoupilova,Brygida Kwiatkowska,Rieke Alten,Christian Schwabe,Patrick Baum,David Joseph,Jay S. Fine,Steven J. Padula,Jürgen Steffgen +18 more
TL;DR: Although blockade of the CD40–CD40L pathway with BI 655064 in MTX-IR patients with RA resulted in marked changes in clinical and biological parameters, including reductions in activated B-cells, autoantibody production and inflammatory and bone resorption markers, clinical efficacy was not demonstrated in this small phase IIa study.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of the efficacy and safety of terguride in patients with fibromyalgia syndrome: results of a twelve-week, multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study.
Oliver Distler,Wolfgang Eich,Eva Dokoupilova,Zdenek Dvorak,Martin Fleck,Markus Gaubitz,Manfred Hechler,Jan-Peter Jansen,Andreas Krause,Martin Bendszus,Lothar Pache,Rudolf Reiter,Ulf Müller-Ladner +12 more
TL;DR: Terguride treatment did not improve pain, the FIQ score, the TPS score, or the HDS score in the total study population, however, a subgroup of patients with cervical spine stenosis seemed to benefit from tergurid treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Expression of adipokines in osteoarthritis osteophytes and their effect on osteoblasts
S. Junker,Klaus W. Frommer,G Krumbholz,L. Tsiklauri,Rüdiger Gerstberger,S. Rehart,Jürgen Steinmeyer,Markus Rickert,Sabine Wenisch,Georg Schett,Ulf Müller-Ladner,Elena Neumann +11 more
TL;DR: The results support the idea that adipokines do not directly influence osteophyte development but the proinflammatory conditions in OA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Current concepts in chronic inflammatory diseases: Interactions between microbes, cellular metabolism, and inflammation
Holger Garn,Sabine Bahn,Bernhard T. Baune,Elisabeth B. Binder,Hans Bisgaard,Talal A. Chatila,Triantafyllos Chavakis,Carsten Culmsee,Udo Dannlowski,Udo Dannlowski,James E. Gern,Tari Haahtela,Tilo Kircher,Ulf Müller-Ladner,Markus F. Neurath,Klaus T. Preissner,Christoph Reinhardt,Graham A. W. Rook,Shannon L. Russell,Bernd Schmeck,Thaddeus S. Stappenbeck,Ulrich Steinhoff,Jim van Os,Scott T. Weiss,Michael Zemlin,Harald Renz +25 more
TL;DR: The aim of the International von-Behring-Röntgen Symposium was to discuss recent developments in this field, which include a concept of biodiversity; the contribution of urbanization, lifestyle factors, and nutrition; and new mechanisms of metabolic and immune dysregulation, such as extracellular and intracellular RNAs and cellular and mitochondrial stress.
