Impact of physician asthma care education on patient outcomes. - eScholarship
Michael D. Cabana,Kathryn K. Slish,David Evans,Robert B. Mellins,Randall W. Brown,Xihong Lin,Niko Kaciroti,Noreen M. Clark +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the effectiveness of a continuing medical education program, Physician Asthma Care Education, in improving pediatricians' asthma therapeutic and communication skills and patients' health care utilization for asthma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Physician Asthma Care Education on Patient Outcomes
Michael D. Cabana,Kathryn K. Slish,David Evans,Robert B. Mellins,Randall W. Brown,Xihong Lin,Niko Kaciroti,Noreen M. Clark +7 more
TL;DR: The Physician Asthma Care Education program was used in a range of locations and was effective in improving parent-reported provider communication skills, the number of days affected by asthma symptoms, and asthma health care use.
Journal ArticleDOI
Test for interactions between a genetic marker set and environment in generalized linear models.
TL;DR: If the main effects of multiple SNPs in a set are associated with a disease/trait, the classical single SNP-GE interaction analysis can be biased and have an inflated Type 1 error rate, a computationally efficient and powerful gene-environment set association test (GESAT) in generalized linear models is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of HIV infection on menstrual cycle length.
Siobán D. Harlow,Paula Schuman,Mardge H. Cohen,Suzanne E. Ohmit,Susan Cu-Uvin,Xihong Lin,Kathryn Anastos,David N. Burns,Ruth M. Greenblatt,Howard Minkoff,Laila I. Muderspach,Ann Rompalo,Dora Warren,Mary Young,Robert S. Klein +14 more
TL;DR: Although seropositivity may slightly increase the probability of very short cycles, HIV serostatus has little overall effect on amenorrhea, menstrual cycle length, or variability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Patel,Cathy C. Laurie,Xiaofeng Zhu,Richa Saxena,Richa Saxena,Xihong Lin,Susan Redline +41 more
TL;DR: These findings identify novel associations in inflammatory, hypoxia signaling, and sleep pathways in Hispanic/Latino Americans from three cohorts, which are the first genome-level significant findings reported for obstructive sleep apnea-related physiologic traits in any population.
