Genomic Analyses from Non-invasive Prenatal Testing Reveal Genetic Associations, Patterns of Viral Infections, and Chinese Population History
Siyang Liu,Shujia Huang,Fang Chen,Lijian Zhao,Yuying Yuan,Stephen S. Francis,Stephen S. Francis,Lin Fang,Zilong Li,Long Lin,Rong Liu,Yong Zhang,Huixin Xu,Shengkang Li,Yuwen Zhou,Robert W. Davies,Qiang Liu,Robin G. Walters,Kuang Lin,Jia Ju,Thorfinn Sand Korneliussen,Melinda A. Yang,Qiaomei Fu,Jun Wang,Lijun Zhou,Anders Krogh,Hongyun Zhang,Wei Wang,Zhengming Chen,Zhiming Cai,Ye Yin,Huanming Yang,Mao Mao,Jay Shendure,Jay Shendure,Jian Wang,Anders Albrechtsen,Xin Jin,Rasmus Nielsen,Rasmus Nielsen,Xun Xu +40 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the present day distribution of alleles is a function of both ancient migration and very recent population movements, and a unique pattern of circulating viral DNA in plasma with high prevalence of hepatitis B and other clinically relevant maternal infections is identified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Whole-genome sequencing of Oryza brachyantha reveals mechanisms underlying Oryza genome evolution
Jinfeng Chen,Quanfei Huang,Dongying Gao,Junyi Wang,Yongshan Lang,Tieyan Liu,Bo Li,Zetao Bai,Jose Luis Goicoechea,Chengzhi Liang,Chengbin Chen,Wenli Zhang,Shouhong Sun,Yi Liao,Xuemei Zhang,Lu Yang,Chengli Song,Meijiao Wang,Jinfeng Shi,Geng Liu,Junjie Liu,Heling Zhou,Weili Zhou,Qiulin Yu,Na An,Yan Chen,Qingle Cai,Bo Wang,Binghang Liu,Jiumeng Min,Ying Huang,Honglong Wu,Zhenyu Li,Yong Zhang,Ye Yin,Wenqin Song,Jiming Jiang,Scott A. Jackson,Rod A. Wing,Jun Wang,Jun Wang,Mingsheng Chen +41 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported the 261-Mb de novo assembled genome sequence of Oryza brachyantha and analyzed the breakpoints of non-collinear genes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Peregrine and saker falcon genome sequences provide insights into evolution of a predatory lifestyle
Xiangjiang Zhan,Shengkai Pan,Junyi Wang,Andrew Dixon,Jing He,Margit G. Muller,Peixiang Ni,Li Hu,Yuan Liu,Haolong Hou,Yuanping Chen,Jinquan Xia,Qiong Luo,Pengwei Xu,Ying Chen,Shengguang Liao,Chang-Chang Cao,Shu-Kun Gao,Zhaobao Wang,Zhen Yue,Guoqing Li,Ye Yin,Nick C. Fox,Jun Wang,Jun Wang,Michael William Bruford +25 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the genomes of both the peregrine and saker falcons were sequenced using Illumina deep sequencing with greater than 100-fold coverage, with transcriptome-assisted prediction of approximately 16,200 genes for both species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influenza H7N9 and H9N2 Viruses: Coexistence in Poultry Linked to Human H7N9 Infection and Genome Characteristics
Xinfen Yu,Tao Jin,Yujun Cui,Xiaoying Pu,Jun Li,Jin Xu,Guang Liu,Huijue Jia,Dan Liu,Shili Song,Yang Yu,Li Xie,Renjie Huang,Hua Ding,Yu Kou,Yinyan Zhou,Yayu Wang,Xun Xu,Ye Yin,Jian Wang,Chenyi Guo,Xianwei Yang,Liangping Hu,Xiaopeng Wu,Hailong Wang,Jun Liu,Jun Liu,Guoqiu Zhao,Jiyong Zhou,Jingcao Pan,George F. Gao,George F. Gao,Ruifu Yang,Jun Wang,Jun Wang +34 more
TL;DR: Examination of poultry and environmental specimens from local markets and farms in Hangzhou provides direct evidence that H9N2 strains coexisted with the novel human-pathogenic H7N9 influenza virus in epidemiologically linked live poultry markets.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide sequencing of longan (Dimocarpus longan Lour.) provides insights into molecular basis of its polyphenol-rich characteristics.
Yuling Lin,Jiumeng Min,Ruilian Lai,Zhangyan Wu,Yukun Chen,Lili Yu,Chunzhen Cheng,Yuanchun Jin,Qilin Tian,Qingfeng Liu,Weihua Liu,Chengguang Zhang,Lixia Lin,Yan Hu,Dongmin Zhang,Minkyaw Thu,Zihao Zhang,Liu Shengcai,Chunshui Zhong,Xiaodong Fang,Jian Wang,Huanming Yang,Rajeev K. Varshney,Rajeev K. Varshney,Ye Yin,Zhongxiong Lai +25 more
TL;DR: Comparative transcriptome studies combined with genome-wide analysis revealed polyphenol-rich and pathogen resistance characteristics of longan fruit and suggested a genomic basis for resistance to insects, fungus, and bacteria in this fruit tree.
