TL;DR: In this article, the authors synthesize and evaluate halal collagen from Bali cattle hide on different extracting processes, and the results showed that the difference in real pre-extracting process increased the yield and viscosity, but not the pH value.
Abstract: The process of pre-extraction is an important stage in the process of collagen synthesis. This stage increases the sensitivity of collagen molecule chains that can affect production yields and collagen properties. The objectives of the study were to synthesize and evaluate halal collagen from Bali cattle’s hide on different -extracting processes. A total of 5 treatments applied in this study, namely: T 1 = Ca(OH) 2 5% (b/v) ; T 2 = Ca(OH) 2 15% (b/v) ; T 3 = Ca(OH) 2 5% + CH 3 COOH 5%(b/v) ; T 4 = Ca(OH) 2 15% + CH 3 COOH 5% (b/v). Each treatment was repeated 4 times. Data were analyzed in a variety of ways using SPSS program. The observed parameters consisted of: 1) yield, 2) viscosity and 3) pH. The results showed that the difference in real pre-extracting process increased the yield and viscosity, but not the pH value. The application of T 4 treatment provided the best results compared to other treatments as well as controls to increase the yield and also improve the collagen's physical properties and pH.

TL;DR: In this paper, a control strategy for a four-rotor vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aerial robot called X4-flyer is proposed, where a kinematics control law is derived using Astolfi's discontinuous control.
Abstract: A control strategy is proposed here for four-rotor vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aerial robot called X4-flyer. Since the X4-flyer has underactuated and nonholonomic features, a kinematics control law is first derived using Astolfi’s discontinuous control. A backstepping method that is one of adaptive control methods based on Lyapunov methods, then provides the kinematic based inputs, to construct the torque control of X4-flyer. Finally, computer simulations are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.

TL;DR: To formulate mathematical relationship between seagrass coverage and depth invariant indices on Quickbird imagery, transformation was done on multispectral bands which could detect sea floor objects that are in the region of blue, green and red bands.
Abstract: Management of seagrass ecosystem requires availability of information on the actual condition of seagrass coverage. Remote sensing technology for seagrass mapping has been used to detect the presence of seagrass coverage, but so far no information on the condition of seagrass could be obtained. Therefore, a research is required using remote sensing imagery to obtain information on the condition of seagrass coverage. The aim of this research is to formulate mathematical relationship between seagrass coverage and depth invariant indices on Quickbird imagery. Transformation was done on multispectral bands which could detect sea floor objects that are in the region of blue, green and red bands. The study areas covered are the seas around Barranglompo Island and Barrangcaddi Island, westward of Makassar city, Indonesia. Various seagrass coverages were detected within the region under study. Mathematical relationship between seagrass coverage and depth invariant indices was obtained by multiple linear regression method. Percentage of seagrass coverage (C) was obtained by transformation of depth invariant indices (Xij) on Quickbird imagery, with transformation equation as follows: C = 19.934 – 63.347 X12 + 23.239 X23. A good accuracy of 75% for the seagrass coverage was obtained by transformation of depth invariant indices (Xij) on Quickbird imagery.

TL;DR: In this article, cubic and hexagonal metallic zinc particles are formed in sizes of 30 to 200 nm, and spherical fiber flocculates approximately 180 nm in diameter are present, which reveals the reduction of zinc oxide.
Abstract: Metal air-batteries with high-energy density are expected to be increasingly applied in electric vehicles. This will require a method of recycling air batteries, and reduction of metal oxide by generating plasma in liquid has been proposed as a possible method. Microwave-induced plasma is generated in ethanol as a reducing agent in which zinc oxide is dispersed. Analysis by energy-dispersive x-ray spectrometry (EDS) and x-ray diffraction (XRD) reveals the reduction of zinc oxide. According to images by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), cubic and hexagonal metallic zinc particles are formed in sizes of 30 to 200 nm. Additionally, spherical fiber flocculates approximately 180 nm in diameter are present.
