TL;DR: The present study showed statistically significant differences in recurrence favoring radical treatment for both unicystic and solid/multicystic ameloblastoma, and the solid/ Multicystic type showed more recurrences than the unicymic type.
Abstract: Objectives The aim of the present study was to assess the outcomes of radical and conservative treatment approaches of solid/multicystic and unicystic ameloblastoma in terms of recurrence rates. Material and methods A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted based on the PRISMA statement. Search was performed using PubMed, Embase, SCOPUS, and Web of Science for articles published from January 1969 until March 2018. Quality assessment of the selected articles was conducted using the Quality Appraisal of Case Series Studies Checklist. The meta-analysis was performed using the MedCalc program. Results The search strategy yielded 6,984 articles; 20 studies met the eligibility criteria and were included in the meta-analysis. The pooled recurrence rate of solid/multicystic ameloblastomas following radical treatment was 8%, while conservative treatment caused recurrences in 41%. For unicystic ameloblastomas, these values were 3% and 21%, respectively. The risk of recurrences in both types of ameloblastomas following radical treatment was lower than following conservative treatment. Conclusions The present study showed statistically significant differences in recurrence favoring radical treatment for both unicystic and solid/multicystic ameloblastoma. The solid/multicystic type showed more recurrences than the unicystic type. Unfortunately, since only retrospective studies were available, the evidence is less strong as wished for.

TL;DR: This study provides justification for on-going egg relocation to the hatchery as a conservation management strategy and advises that the nest environment inside the hatchers needs to be carefully managed so that temperatures do not exceed the viable limit nor unnaturally skew the sex ratio of embryos.
Abstract: The nest environment, in particular sand temperature, is critical to the breeding ecology of sea turtles which lack parental care during their early stages of life. We investigated the effects of sand temperature on emergence success and sex ratio of Olive Ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) hatchlings in in situ and relocated nests in Alas Purwo National Park (APNP), East Java, Indonesia. Over two years of observation no in situ nests survived due to predation, while emergence success in relocated nests varied between the years. Temperatures above 34°C experienced by the nests over at least three consecutive days during incubation (T3dm) had decreased emergence success in both years. These high temperatures occurred as a result of metabolic heating of developing embryos combined with high sand temperatures. The indirect method of determining sex ratios from nest temperature profiles indicated that the hatchery at APNP generated more male hatchlings than female. Our study provides justification for on-going eg...

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the coastal sediment and topography features along the beach using Gradistat software and found that the lithology of the study area mainly consists of tuff and volcanic breccia which might have formed in Late Miocene.
Abstract: The characteristic of the change sediment texture and topography features are primary variable for coastal morphodynamics state, besides Ω is known as the dimension fall velocity, period and breaker wave height. Morphodynamic state as a coastal system is an important issue for a proper coastal management and planning. Study area is located at Parepare and Pinrang Regencies. The purpose of this study is to explain coastal morphodynamics. The study methods are field study and petrography analysis. To examine the coastal sediment and topography features along the beach is used Gradistat software. The results indicate that the lithology of the study area mainly consists of tuff and volcanic breccia which might has formed in Late Miocene. The Lapakaka beach is a tide-modified beach, has a steep slope, coarse grain sediments, cusped and reflective. Lumpue beach is also a tide-modified beach, however it has fine grain sediments, low gradient and often featureless; Tassiwalie beach is wave-dominated beaches of reflective states, has coarser grain sediments and consist of relatively steep beach slope (5-20o); Sibo beach is tide-dominated beaches, very low waves, low elevation, coarse-grained and irregular; Maroneng beach include in dissipative, fine sediment, low gradient swash (~1o) and containing bar. The all beaches type above shows different state in sediment texture and topography. The study needs to be continued in order to understand deeply the beach morphodynamics state in supporting an integrated coastal management.

TL;DR: In this paper, a study was conducted to map out and seek solutions to the problems faced by students of English as a foreign language in reading literary works, and carry out troubleshooting to minimize the constraints.
Abstract: The objective of this research was to map out and seek solutions to the problems faced by students of English as a foreign language in reading literary works. Conducted at the Department of English and Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Hasanuddin University, the study took place over one semester. The research respondents were Indonesian postgraduate students taking the English Stylistics and Literary Appreciation course. The aims were: 1) to map out the language constraints of learners in reading English literary works, and 2) carry out troubleshooting to minimize the constraints. The data collection methods used was a questionnaire and in-depth interviews. The results showed that the foreign learners need to have sufficient knowledge of trope and scheme in general and linguistic deviation in particular, in order to understand the author's language in a broad sense as well as specific literary stylistics.
