To be empowered to lead in vietnam: performance management & erp teamwork in a boundaryless organization

Abstract: The real success of performance management and activites on General Electric in Vietnam could be described by a specific organization which has been trying to eliminate vertical and horizontal boundaries within GE and to break down external barriers between the company and its customers, suppliers and local communities after the implementation of a specific ERP. In this paper, we tried to identify factors to be critical to ERP teamwork implementation success such as change management program and culture, top management support, Business Process Reengineering with customisation and project management. Using a case study approach, we want to understand the GE boundaryless organization in Vietnam (kind of chain of command, information system, spans of control, empowered teams, 360-degree performance appraisal). Secondly, we provide data that reflect how boundaryless organization success in Vietnam was perceived, interpreted, and legitimated by those involved.
