07 Sep 2014TL;DR: An overview of experiences and research in applying artificial intelligence approaches and techniques for intellectual capital management is presented and some perspectives for the future are given.
Abstract: Strategic Knowledge Management considers Intellectual Capital (IC) as roots of all organizations activities. The success of organizations strongly depends on the way they manage all facets of knowledge and skills. Artificial Intelligence brought some methods and techniques for handling intellectual assets of companies, expertise management, knowledge transfer and training. This paper presents an overview of experiences and research in applying artificial intelligence approaches and techniques for intellectual capital management and gives some perspectives for the future.

TL;DR: It is deduced that under some conditions of compacticity, the elements of every commuting family of endomorphisms of a moorable pre-median graph strictly stabilize a nonempty finite pre- median subgraph (pre-Median graphs are particular instances of weakly modular graphs which are fiber-complemented).

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors argue that the contestability of public policy can only be a source of democratic legitimacy if citizens have the opportunity to participate in public contestation through a general public forum that is endowed with a deliberative dimension.
Abstract: While recent democratic theory has insisted upon the contestability of public policies as a key source of democratic legitimacy, the role mass media should play in fostering public contestation has yet to be specified. The role of deliberative theory in particular should be to try to identify which standards mass communication needs to meet in order to provide a general forum for democratic contestation. This article focuses on the theoretical foundations of such a project. It puts forward three claims. First, the contestability of public policy can only be a source of democratic legitimacy if citizens have the opportunity to participate in public contestation through – among other forums – a general public forum that is endowed with a deliberative dimension. Second, media pluralism alone is insufficient in providing such a public forum: both external standards (related to the independence of mass media) and internal standards (related to the norms guiding media practices) need to be satisfied. Third, and...

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that if α is a translation whose direction is a thin end, then there exists an axis inD(α) and D(α−1) invariant under αr for somer not exceeding the maximum number of disjoint rays inDα.
Abstract: Let τ be an infinite graph, let π be a double ray in τ, and letd anddπ denote the distance functions in τ and in π, respectively. One calls π anaxis ifd(x,y)=dπ(x,y) and aquasi-axis if lim infd(x,y)/dπ(x,y)>0 asx, y range over the vertex set of π anddπ(x,y)→∞. The present paper brings together in greater generality results of R. Halin concerning invariance of double rays under the action of translations (i.e., graph automorphisms all of whose vertex-orbits are infinite) and results of M. E. Watkins concerning existence of axes in locally finite graphs. It is shown that if α is a translation whose directionD(α) is a thin end, then there exists an axis inD(α) andD(α−1) invariant under αr for somer not exceeding the maximum number of disjoint rays inD(α).The thinness ofD(α) is necessary. Further results give necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for a translation to leave invariant a quasi-axis.
