TL;DR: From the experimental results, it was found that the AR-based flipped learning guiding approach not only benefited the students in terms of promoting their project performance, but also improved their learning motivation, critical thinking tendency, and group self-efficacy.
Abstract: In recent years, flipped learning has received increasing emphasis; it engages students in deriving basic knowledge through instructional videos before the class, and hence more time is available for practicing, applying knowledge, or student-teacher interaction in class. Many scholars have pointed out that, with such a learning approach, teachers can design more effective in-class activities by guiding students to have higher order thinking as well as interactions with peers and teachers. In the meantime, researchers have also indicated that employing proper educational technologies or learning strategies could further improve students’ performance. Therefore, in this study, an Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning guiding mode is proposed for developing a flipped learning system. To examine the effectiveness of the proposed approach, an experiment was conducted in a natural science learning activity of an elementary school using the developed system. The participants were four classes of 111 fifth graders. Two classes were assigned to the experimental group, while the others were the control group. Those learning in the experimental group used the AR-based flipped learning mode, while those in the control group learned with the conventional flipped learning mode. From the experimental results, it was found that the AR-based flipped learning guiding approach not only benefited the students in terms of promoting their project performance, but also improved their learning motivation, critical thinking tendency, and group self-efficacy.

TL;DR: The authors argued that the lack of design thinking by teachers may be the "third-order barrier" for technology integration in education, which includes teachers' personal and fundamental beliefs such as teachers' pedagogical beliefs, technology beliefs, willingness to change.
Abstract: Technology integration is a major trend in contemporary education practice. When undertaking technology integration in classrooms, a first-order barrier and a second-order barrier, as proposed by Ertmer (1999), can hinder its implementation. The first-order barrier is external, such as lack of adequate access, time, training and institutional support. The second-order barrier includes teachers' personal and fundamental beliefs such as teachers' pedagogical beliefs, technology beliefs, willingness to change. This paper argues that the lack of design thinking by teachers may be the "third"-order barrier for technology integration.

TL;DR: The novel MAGDM method outperforms the existing MAGDM methods for dealing with MAGDM problems and can reduce the effects of extreme evaluating data from some experts with prejudice.
Abstract: To be able to describe more complex fuzzy uncertainty information effectively, the concept of ${q}$ -rung orthopair fuzzy sets ( ${q}$ -ROFSs) was first proposed by Yager. The ${q}$ -ROFSs can dynamically adjust the range of indication of decision information by changing a parameter ${q}$ based on the different hesitation degree from the decision-makers, where ${q} {\ge } {1}$ , so they outperform the traditional intuitionistic fuzzy sets and Pythagorean fuzzy sets. In real decision-making problems, there is often an interaction phenomenon between attributes. For aggregating these complex fuzzy information, the Maclaurin symmetric mean (MSM) operator is more superior by considering interrelationships among attributes. In addition, the power average (PA) operator can reduce the effects of extreme evaluating data from some experts with prejudice. In this paper, we introduce the PA operator and the MSM operator based on ${q}$ -rung orthopair fuzzy numbers ( ${q}$ -ROFNs). Then, we put forward the ${q}$ -rung orthopair fuzzy power MSM ( ${q}$ -ROFPMSM) operator and the ${q}$ -rung orthopair fuzzy power weighed MSM ( ${q}$ -ROFPWMSM) operator of ${q}$ -ROFNs and present some of their properties. Finally, we present a novel multiple-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) method based on the ${q}$ -ROFPWA and the ${q}$ -ROFPWMSM operators. The experimental results show that the novel MAGDM method outperforms the existing MAGDM methods for dealing with MAGDM problems.

TL;DR: In this paper, the adsorption of fluoride ion in aqueous solution by using alumina was studied and the experimental results indicated that the removal efficiency was influenced significantly by solution pH and the optimum operating pH was found to be in the range of 5 to 7.
Abstract: The adsorption of fluoride ion in aqueous solution by using alumina was studied in this research. The experimental resultsindicated that the removal efficiency was influenced significantly by solution pH and the optimum operating pH wasfound to be in the range of 5 to 7. For neutral and acidic solutions, the adsorption capacities of fluoride by alumina wasinterfered by the presence of sulfate. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms can well describe the equilibrium behaviorsof the adsorption processes. The experimentally determined lowvalues of activation energy indicate nonspecific adsorption isthe predominant mechanism. The surface reaction-limiting batchkinetic model can adequately describe the removal behaviors offluoride ion by alumina adsorption in the batch system.

TL;DR: A triphenylamine-containing diamine monomer was successfully synthesized by the cesium fluoride-mediated condensation of 3,4-dimethylaniline with 4-fluoronitrobenzene, followed by reduction as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A new triphenylamine-containing diamine monomer, 4,4‘-diamino-3‘ ‘,4‘ ‘-dimethyltriphenylamine (DADT), was successfully synthesized by the cesium fluoride-mediated condensation of 3,4-dimethylaniline with 4-fluoronitrobenzene, followed by reduction. The monomer was reacted with various aromatic dicarboxylic acids and tetracarboxylic dianhydrides to produce a series of novel polyamides and polyimides, respectively. A new triphenylamine-containing dicarboxylic acid monomer, 4,4‘-trimellitimido-3‘ ‘,4‘ ‘-dimethyltriphenylamine (TDT), was successfully synthesized by refluxing the diamine, DADT, with trimellitic anhydride in glacial acetic anhydride. A series of new poly(amide−imide)s were prepared from TDT with various diamines by the direct polycondensation. The polymers were obtained in quantitative yields with inherent viscosities of 0.61−2.28 dL g-1. Most of the polymers dissolved in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone, N,N-dimethylacetamide, N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide, pyridine, and cyclohexanone. Th...
