TL;DR: In this paper, a generalized control chart called the generally weighted moving average (GWMA) control chart was proposed and analyzed for detecting small shifts in the mean of a process, with time varying control limits to detect start-up shifts more sensitively.
Abstract: A generalization of the exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) control chart is proposed and analyzed. The generalized control chart we have proposed is called the generally weighted moving average (GWMA) control chart. The GWMA control chart, with time‐varying control limits to detect start‐up shifts more sensitively, performs better in detecting small shifts of the process mean. We use simulation to evaluate the average run length (ARL) properties of the EWMA control chart and GWMA control chart. An extensive comparison reveals that the GWMA control chart is more sensitive than the EWMA control chart for detecting small shifts in the mean of a process. To enhance the detection ability of the GWMA control chart, we submit the composite Shewhart‐GWMA scheme to monitor process mean. The composite Shewhart‐GWMA control chart with/without runs rules is more sensitive than the GWMA control chart in detecting small shifts of the process mean. The resulting ARLs obtained by the GWMA control chart...

TL;DR: In this paper, the growth behavior in the intermetallic layer after various times of immersion in the hot-dip at 700 °C was analyzed by electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD).
Abstract: Mild steel was coated by hot-dipping in a molten aluminum bath. The growth behavior in the intermetallic layer after various times of immersion in the hot-dip at 700 °C was analyzed by electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). The results showed that the aluminide layer consisted of an outer aluminum topcoat, minor FeAl 3 and major Fe 2 Al 5 , respectively. From another perspective, Fe 2 Al 5 possessed a tongue-like morphology, which caused the corresponding serration-like morphology of the steel substrate. The Fe-Al/steel substrate interface of the Fe 2 Al 5 phase, after removal of the steel substrate, displayed a columnar structure growing toward the steel substrate, implying that Fe 2 Al 5 grew at a rapid rate along the diffusion direction. Moreover, the EBSD results revealed the Fe 2 Al 5 phase was not only composed of columnar grains, but also possessed fine grains clustered around the peaks of the serration-like steel substrate.

TL;DR: A context-aware mobile learning system is developed for nursing training courses that not only guides individual students to perform each operation of the physical assessment procedure on dummy patients, but also provides instant feedback and supplementary materials to them if the operations or the operating sequence is incorrect.
Abstract: The aim of nursing education is to foster in students the competence of applying integrated knowledge with clinical skills to the application domains. In the traditional approach, in-class knowledge learning and clinical skills training are usually conducted separately, such that the students might not be able to integrate the knowledge and the skills in performing standard nursing procedures. Therefore, it is important to develop an integrated curriculum for teaching standard operating procedures in physical assessment courses. In this study, a context-aware mobile learning system is developed for nursing training courses. During the learning activities, each student is equipped with a mobile device; moreover, sensing devices are used to detect whether the student has conducted the operations on the correct location of the dummy patient’s body for assessing the physical status of the specified disease. The learning system not only guides individual students to perform each operation of the physical assessment procedure on dummy patients, but also provides instant feedback and supplementary materials to them if the operations or the operating sequence is incorrect. The experimental results show that the students’ learning outcomes are notably improved by utilizing the mobile learning system for nursing training.
