TL;DR: A time-space-time MUSIC (TST-MUSIC) is proposed to jointly estimate the directions of arrival (DOAs) and the propagation delays of a wireless multiray channel and can resolve the incoming rays with very close DOAs or delays, and the number of antennas required can be made less than that of the incomingrays.
Abstract: A multiple signal classification (MUSIC)-based approach known as the time-space-time MUSIC (TST-MUSIC) is proposed to jointly estimate the directions of arrival (DOAs) and the propagation delays of a wireless multiray channel. The MUSIC algorithm for the DOA estimation is referred to as the spatial-MUSIC (S-MUSIC) algorithm. On the other hand, the temporal-MUSIC (T-MUSIC), which estimates the propagation delays, is introduced as well. Making use of the space-time characteristics of the multiray channel, the proposed algorithm-in a tree structure-combines the techniques of temporal filtering and of spatial beamforming with three one-dimensional (1-D) MUSIC algorithms, i.e., one S-MUSIC and two T-MUSIC algorithms. The incoming rays are thus grouped, isolated, and estimated. At the same time, the pairing of the estimated DOAs and delays is automatically determined. Furthermore, the proposed approach can resolve the incoming rays with very close DOAs or delays, and the number of antennas required by the TST-MUSIC algorithm can be made less than that of the incoming rays.

TL;DR: A new method for temperature prediction and the Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) forecasting is presented, based on high-order fuzzy logical relationships and genetic simulated annealing techniques, where simulation techniques are used to deal with mutation operations of genetic algorithms.
Abstract: In this paper, we present a new method for temperature prediction and the Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) forecasting, based on high-order fuzzy logical relationships and genetic simulated annealing techniques, where simulated annealing techniques are used to deal with mutation operations of genetic algorithms. We use genetic simulated annealing techniques to adjust the length of each interval in the universe of discourse to increase the forecasting accuracy rate. The proposed method gets higher forecasting accuracy rates than the existing methods.

TL;DR: This work reveals the link between ICR and CP, significantly extending the knowledge of how charged polyelectrolytes modulate ion transport on nano- and mesoscales.
Abstract: Nanopores exhibit a set of interesting transport properties that stem from interactions of the passing ions and molecules with the pore walls. Nanopores are used, for example, as ionic diodes and transistors, biosensors, and osmotic power generators. Using nanopores is however disadvantaged by their high resistance, small switching currents in nA range, low power generated, and signals that can be difficult to distinguish from the background. Here, we present a mesopore with ionic conductance reaching μS that rectifies ion current in salt concentrations as high as 1 M. The mesopore is conically shaped, and its region close to the narrow opening is filled with high molecular weight poly-l-lysine. To elucidate the underlying mechanism of ion current rectification (ICR), a continuum model based on a set of Poisson–Nernst–Planck and Stokes–Brinkman equations was adopted. The results revealed that embedding the polyelectrolyte in a conical pore leads to rectification of the effect of concentration polarization...
