Abstract: Archimedean ${t}$ -conorm and ${t}$ -norm provide the general operational rules for intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs). The aggregation operators based on them can generalize most of the existing aggregation operators. At the same time, the Heronian mean (HM) has a significant advantage of considering interrelationships between the attributes. Therefore, it is very necessary to extend the HM based on IFNs and to construct intuitionistic fuzzy HM operators based on the Archimedean ${t}$ -conorm and ${t}$ -norm. In this paper, we first discuss intuitionistic fuzzy operational rules based on the Archimedean ${t}$ -conorm and ${t}$ -norm. Then, we propose the intuitionistic fuzzy Archimedean Heronian aggregation (IFAHA) operator and the intuitionistic fuzzy weight Archimedean Heronian aggregation (IFWAHA) operator. We also further discuss some properties and some special cases of these new operators. Moreover, we also propose a new multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) method based on the proposed IFAHA operator and the proposed IFWAHA operator. Finally, we use an illustrative example to show the MAGDM processes and to illustrate the effectiveness of the developed method.

Abstract: This study enhances main path analysis by proposing several variants to the original approach. Main path analysis is a bibliometric method capable of tracing the most significant paths in a citation network and is commonly used to trace the development trajectory of a research field. We highlight several limitations of the original main path analysis and suggest new, complementary approaches to overcome these limitations. In contrast to the original local main path, the new approaches generate the global main path, the backward local main path, multiple main paths, and key-route main paths. Each of them is obtained via a perspective different from the original approach. By simultaneously conducting the new, complementary approaches, one uncovers the key development of the target discipline from a broader view. To demonstrate the value of these new approaches, we simultaneously apply them to a set of academic articles related to the Hirsch index. The results show that the integrated approach discovers several paths that are not captured by the original approach. Among these new approaches, the key-route approach is especially useful and hints at a divergence–convergence–divergence structure in the development of the Hirsch index. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

Abstract: Social network sites enable users to express themselves, establish ties, and develop and maintain social relationships. Recently, many companies have begun using social media identity (e.g., Facebook fan pages) to enhance brand attractiveness, and social network sites have evolved into social utility networks, thereby creating a number of promising business opportunities. To this end, the operators of fan pages need to be aware of the factors motivating users to continue their patronization of such pages. This study set out to identify these motivating factors from the point of view of social capital. This study employed structural equation modeling to investigate a research model based on a survey of 327 fan pages users. Abstract: This review examines 105 empirical studies that investigate students' views of the nature of science (VNOS), effects of curricular interventions on changing students' VNOS, and relations between VNOS and demographics, majors, and learning of science. The reviewed studies can be categorized into three theoretical frameworks: the unidimension, the multidimension, and the argumentative resource frameworks. Each framework is reviewed first with regard to its theoretical foundation, methods of data collection and analysis, and the respective findings. This is followed by a critical discussion on the methodological issues and the strengths and limitations of the framework. Potential directions regarding theoretical framework, methodology, and pedagogy are suggested in the future directions section. For example, this review proposes the shift to argumentative resource framework for VNOS research and a refinement for judging the “sophistication” of student VNOS.
