TL;DR: In the lane detection, in order to enhance lane boundary information and to suitable for various light conditions all day, the self-clustering algorithm (SCA), fuzzy C-mean and fuzzy rules to process the spatial information and Canny algorithms to get good edge detection.
Abstract: As the high growth of population of vehicles, the traffic accidents are becoming more and more serious in recent years. Most occurrences of the car accidents results from the distraction, inattention and driving fatigue of the driver. Hence, in order to avoid the driver being in danger as much as possible. In the lane detection, in order to enhance lane boundary information and to suitable for various light conditions all day, we combine the self-clustering algorithm (SCA), fuzzy C-mean and fuzzy rules to process the spatial information and Canny algorithms to get good edge detection. In the lane departure warning, the system uses instantaneous information from the lane detection to calculate angle relations of the boundaries. The system sends a suitable warning signal to drivers, according to degree different of the departure. These experiments have been successfully evaluated on the PC platform of 3.2-GHz CPU and the average frame rate is up to 14fps.

Abstract: The present study develops a new optimization algorithm to find the complete time-cost profile (Pareto front) over a set of feasible project durations, i.e., it solves the time-cost trade-off problem. To improve existing methods, the proposed algorithm aims to achieve three goals: (1) to obtain the entire Pareto front in a single run; (2) to be insensitive to the scales of time and cost; and (3) to treat all existing types of activity time-cost functions, such as linear, nonlinear, discrete, discontinuous, and a hybrid of the above. The proposed algorithm modifies a population-based search procedure, particle swarm optimization, by adopting an elite archiving scheme to store nondominated solutions and by aptly using members of the archive to direct further search. Through a fast food outlet example, the proposed algorithm is shown effective and efficient in conducting advanced bicriterion time-cost analysis. Future applications of the proposed algorithm are suggested in the conclusion.

TL;DR: In this article, an economical separation process via extractive distillation is proposed to obtain pure dimethyl carbonate product and also pure methanol to be recycled to the reactive distillation column.
Abstract: Dimethyl carbonate is an environmentally benign and biodegradable chemical. It can be produced by a transesterification reaction of methanol with ethylene carbonate, coproducing another useful product, ethylene glycol. A reactive distillation column can be utilized for the complete conversion of ethylene carbonate with methanol in excess. The coproduct, ethylene glycol, is the bottom product while the top product of this reactive distillation column is a mixture of dimethyl carbonate and methanol close to the azeotropic composition. In this paper, an economical separation process via extractive distillation is proposed to obtain pure dimethyl carbonate product and also pure methanol to be recycled to the reactive distillation column. A very simple procedure is proposed in this paper for the quick comparison of alternative entrainer candidates before rigorous process simulation is conducted. Aniline is found to be a very effective entrainer to enhance the relative volatility between methanol and dimethyl c...
