TL;DR: In this paper, the authors theoretically identify three dimensions of expatriate competenciesability, motivation, and opportunity seeking for knowledge transfer: ability-motivation-opportunity framework and the absorptive capacity perspective.
Abstract: In this study, we theoretically identify three dimensions of expatriate competenciesability, motivation, and opportunity seeking—for knowledge transfer. Integrating the ability-motivation-opportunity framework and the absorptive capacity perspective, we propose that expatriate competencies in knowledge transfer influence a subsidiary's performance through the knowledge received by the subsidiary, but tbat this indirect enect is stronger when subsidiary absorptive capacity is greater. We collected multisource, time-lagged data from 162 British subsidiaries of Taiwanese multinational nrms. The results support our hypotheses. Overall, we contribute to expatriation theory and research by revealing specinc expatriate competencies as well as identifying boundary conditions for successful expatriate knowledge transfer.

TL;DR: This study applies innovation diffusion theory to examine the factors that influence the adoption of MMS and indicates that perceptions of use were different over innovation diffusion stages.
Abstract: Multimedia message service (MMS) provides more multimedia communication with entertainment effects than current text-based short message service (SMS). While many reports indicate that the mobile Internet market will be huge, little is known about whether people will accept MMS. This study applies innovation diffusion theory to examine the factors that influence the adoption of MMS. The proposed model was empirically evaluated by using survey data collected from 207 users concerning their perceptions of MMS. The findings indicate that perceptions of use were different over innovation diffusion stages. Specifically, there was a significant difference between potential adopters and users. The results may provide further insights into MMS marketing strategies.

TL;DR: This paper reviews 74 journal papers that investigate ICT integration from the framework of technological pedagogical content knowledge and suggests more development and research of technological environments base on TPACK; study of students' learning conception with technology; and cross fertilization of TPACK with other theoretical frameworks related to the study of technology integration.
Abstract: This paper reviews 74 journal papers that investigate ICT integration from the framework of technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK). The TPACK framework is an extension of the pedagogical content knowledge (Shulman, 1986). TPACK is the type of integrative and transformative knowledge teachers need for effective use of ICT in classrooms. As a framework for the design of teacher education programs, the TPACK framework addresses the problem arising from overemphasis on technological knowledge in many ICT courses that are conducted in isolation from teachers' subject matter learning and pedagogical training. The present review we have conducted indicates that TPACK is a burgeoning area of research with more application in the North American region. Studies conducted to date employed varied and sophisticated research methods and they have yielded positive results in enhancing teachers' capability to integrate ICT for instructional practice. However, there are still many potential gaps that the TPACK framework could be employed to facilitate deeper change in education. In particular, we suggest more development and research of technological environments base on TPACK; study of students' learning conception with technology; and cross fertilization of TPACK with other theoretical frameworks related to the study of technology integration.

TL;DR: In this paper, a dual-band filter consisting of a bandstop filter and a wide-band bandpass filter in a cascade connection is presented, wherein the transfer functions of both the bandpass filters and bandstop filters are expressed in the Z domain.
Abstract: A synthesizing method is presented to design and implement digital dual-band filters in the microwave frequency range. A dual-band filter consists of a bandstop filter and a wide-band bandpass filter in a cascade connection, wherein the transfer functions of both the bandpass filter and bandstop filter are expressed in the Z domain. The bandstop filter is implemented by using a coupled-serial-shunted line structure, while the wide-band bandpass filter is constructed by using a serial-shunted line configuration. In particular, the bandwidth of each passband of the dual-band filter is controllable by adjusting the characteristics of both the bandpass filter and bandstop filter. By neglecting the dispersion effect between microstrip lines of different widths over a wide bandwidth, a dual-band filter is realized in the form of microstrip lines and its frequency responses are measured to validate this method.

TL;DR: This work presents a new fuzzy multiple attributes decision-making approach, i.e., fuzzy simple additive weighting system (FSAWS), for solving facility location selection problems by using objective/subjective attributes under group decision- making (GDM) conditions.
