TL;DR: In this article, a facile one-step hydrothermal method is developed for large-scale production of well-designed flexible and free-standing Co3O4/reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) hybrid paper as an electrode for electrochemical capacitors.
Abstract: A facile one-step hydrothermal method is developed for large-scale production of well-designed flexible and free-standing Co3O4/reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) hybrid paper as an electrode for electrochemical capacitors. Densely packed unique Co3O4 monolayer microsphere arrays uniformly cover the surface of the rGO/CNTs film. The alkaline hydrothermal treatment leads to not only the deposition of Co3O4 microspheres array, but also the reduction of the GO sheets at the same time. The unique hybrid paper is evaluated as an electrode for electrochemical capacitors without any ancillary materials. It is found that the obtained hybrid flexible paper, composed of Co3O4 microsphere array anchored to the underling conductive rGO/CNTs substrate with robust adhesion, is able to deliver high specific capacitance with excellent electrochemical stability even at high current densities, suggesting its promising application as an efficient electrode material for electrochemical capacitors.

TL;DR: It was found that one type of CDs synthesized from p-phenylenediamine could emit various long wavelength lights independent of the excitation wavelength when dispersed in different solvents.
Abstract: Carbon dots (CDs) usually emit a strong blue light and excitation wavelength dependent long wavelength lights. This significantly limits their applications because one has to use a series of different excitation light sources to get different colors and the long wavelength emissions are usually very weak. We found that one type of CDs synthesized from p-phenylenediamine could emit various long wavelength lights (green to red) independent of the excitation wavelength when dispersed in different solvents. The photoluminescence quantum yields of the same CDs were 10–35% in different solvents for different color emissions. Based on this solvent-color effect, we further mixed the same CDs with different polymers to form solid CD films for various color emissions, and these film emissions were also excitation wavelength independent. Multicolor LEDs were demonstrated with the same CDs in solution and solid film states for color displays.

TL;DR: An approximate analytical expression is derived for the uplink achievable rate of a massive multiinput multioutput (MIMO) antenna system when finite precision analog-digital converters (ADCs) and the common maximal-ratio combining technique are used at the receivers.
Abstract: In this letter, we derive an approximate analytical expression for the uplink achievable rate of a massive multiinput multioutput (MIMO) antenna system when finite precision analog-digital converters (ADCs) and the common maximal-ratio combining technique are used at the receivers. To obtain this expression, we treat quantization noise as an additive quantization noise model. Considering the obtained expression, we show that low-resolution ADCs lead to a decrease in the achievable rate but the performance loss can be compensated by increasing the number of receiving antennas. In addition, we investigate the relation between the number of antennas and the ADC resolution, as well as the power-scaling law. These discussions support the feasibility of equipping highly economical ADCs with low resolution in practical massive MIMO systems.

TL;DR: It is proposed that the RNA exosome protects divergently transcribed lncRNA expressing enhancers by resolving deleterious transcription-coupled secondary DNA structures, while also regulating long-range super-enhancer chromosomal interactions important for cellular function.
