TL;DR: A unique approach to detect noisy pixels that are present in the pupil based on thresholding and local binary pattern (LBP) is used for extracting texture features and they are matched using radial basis function and probabilistic neural network classifiers.
Abstract: The pupil localization is inaccurate due to noisy artifacts, resulted by corneal reflection present in an iris image. Hence, the performance of iris-based recognition system is degraded. This paper describes a unique approach to detect noisy pixels that are present in the pupil. This technique is based on thresholding. The detected reflection noisy pixels are replaced with the neighborhood non-reflection pixels. Finally, local binary pattern (LBP) is used for extracting texture features and they are matched using radial basis function and probabilistic neural network classifiers. To evaluate the performance of the proposed technique, the approach has been applied on PHOENIX, MMU, IITD and CASIA 4.0 databases. The system accuracy of 97% is obtained by our integrated approach of removing corneal reflection algorithm and probabilistic neural network classifier for PHOENIX database.

TL;DR: The WPM-BPSK (Binary Phase Shift Keying) system is used for evaluation of performance parameters of peer-to-peer network under different channels for the parameters BER (Bit Error Rate) and throughput.
Abstract: In today's world high speed network plays a very important role for different applications. A peer-to-peer network satisfies the condition of high speed communication between nodes within the network. For efficient communication between nodes within the network multicarrier modulation technique needs to be employed. To achieve multicarrier modulation technique WPM (Wavelet Packet Modulation) is one of the promising technologies. In this paper WPM-BPSK (Binary Phase Shift Keying) system is used for evaluation of performance parameters of peer-to-peer network under different channels. To maintain the stable link between the nodes suitable wavelets are used in WPM-BPSK system. At lower values of SNR the performance of various wavelets is similar but results in significant change for higher values of SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio). The WPM-BPSK system is evaluated under different channel conditions like AWGN, Rayleigh and Rician for the parameters BER (Bit Error Rate) and throughput.

TL;DR: In this paper, a multistoried composite building (i.e. G+7) is considered and the prime objective of this study is to analyze the composite building by removing columns at different locations and finding out critical location of column vulnerable to progressive collapse and also prevention of progressive collapse of structure using linear static analysis.
Abstract: In the past few decades, effect of natural hazards such as earthquake, wind etc. on existing structures has attracted the attention of designers. Progressive collapse is nothing but a condition of indigenous failure of prime structural element which in turn leads to the collapse of connecting members and then it leads to the additional collapse. For the case of progressive collapse, damage is included in the model through the elimination of important structural component like column. The progressive collapse design guidelines primarily suggest the simplified analysis actions occurred due to the sudden removal of specific columns in a building. The study of analytical approaches for evaluating progressive collapse is carried out by linear static analysis using Alternate Path Method (APM) recommended in General Service Administration (GSA) guidelines and the same is presented in this study. This study involves the use of various general methods of progressive collapse design & evaluation based on numerical mock up and experimental information. For this study, a multistoried composite building (i.e. G+7) is considered. The prime objective of this study is to analyze the composite building by removing columns at different locations and finding out critical location of column vulnerable to progressive collapse and also prevention of progressive collapse of structure using linear static analysis. Location of removed column, Number of floors, vertical irregularity were studied and their influence was also carried out in this research.

TL;DR: In this paper the total delay of dual adder designed using compound adder is found to be 5.776 ns and the main contribution of this paper is to reduce the latency.
Abstract: Binary 128 arithmetic finds a hard in floating point application of Quadruple Precision. The major component of 128 bit Fused Multiply Add (FMA) unit with multimode operations are Alignment Shifter, Normalization shifter, Dual Adder by CLA. The main contribution of this paper is to reduce the latency. The technical challenges in existing FMA architectures are latency and higher precision. The precision gets affected by the repeated occurrence of fractional part. In order to reduce the latency the dual adder is designed by using compound Adder and the latency of overall architecture gets reduced up to 30-40%. In this paper the total delay of dual adder designed using compound adder is found to be 5.776 ns. Simultaneously to get higher precision we design namely Alignment Shifter and Normalization Shifter in the FMA unit by using Barrel Shifter as this Alignment Shifter and Normalization Shifter will have less precision, but since replacement of these blocks by Barrel Shifter will result into higher precision.

TL;DR: In the data mining field, association rules are generated from domain knowledge which is evaluated from the minimum support threshold value, and the use of propositional logic is used to generate the association rules to avoid loss of rules.
Abstract: In the data mining field, association rules are generated from domain knowledge which is evaluated from the minimum support threshold value. The accuracy in setting up this threshold directly influences the number and the quality of association rules discovered. The number of association rules discovered is large in numbers but still misses some interesting rules and the rule's quality. So, the solution to this is the use of propositional logic to generate the association rules to avoid loss of rules. Coherent rules are discovered from the propositional logic so it does not require the domain expert. The coherent rules are discovered without knowing the value of minimum threshold. So, there is no need of deciding the threshold value. The results are compared with results apriori algorithm.
