Comparative floral structure and systematics in Oxalidales (Oxalidaceae, Connaraceae, Brunelliaceae, Cephalotaceae, Cunoniaceae, Elaeocarpaceae, Tremandraceae)

TL;DR: Floral morphology, anatomy and histology were studied in representatives of all families of current Oxalidales, which were recently constituted as a result of molecular systematic studies by other authors, and are composed of families of different positions in traditional classifications.
Journal ArticleDOI

The anatomy of tissue cultured red raspberry prior to and after transfer to soil

TL;DR: During acclimatization transitional forms of leaves, petioles, stems and roots develop that ranged anatomically from culture-to control-type, which is analagous to the normal developmental sequence of organ formation as it affects the potential for development of successily formed organs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Taxonomy and palaeoecology of Early Cretaceous (Late Albian) angiosperm leaves from Alexander Island, Antarctica

TL;DR: Seven species ofAngiospermous leaves from the mid to Late Albian of Alexander Island, Antarctica provide further evidence of angiosperm radiation into high southern palaeolatitudes and margined leaves with brochidodromus venation are interpreted as belonging to the Magnoliidae, and possibly include members of the Laurales.
Journal ArticleDOI

Phylogenetic significance of leaf micromorphology and anatomy in the tribe Mentheae (Nepetoideae: Lamiaceae)

TL;DR: The anatomical leaf structure was consistent throughout the Mentheae tribe, and the vascular bundles in the midrib were modified into a mechanical tissue, which is an adaptation to xerophytic environments.
