Modeling hierarchically structured nanoparticle/diblock copolymer systems

TL;DR: In this article, a molecular modeling approach for predicting the nanostructure of hybrid systems based on AB diblock copolymers and nanoparticles decorated with A, B, or mixed A/B homopolymer ligands is presented.

Synthesis of polymer precursors of electroactive materials by SET-LRP

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of electroactive polymer precursors by single electron transfer-living radical polymerization (SET-LRP) was demonstrated by kinetic experiments, and the results showed that the polymerization of 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl methacrylate (TMPM) containing (co) polymers are oxidised to produce electroactive poly(TEMPO methacylate) (PTMA) was furthermore evidenced by cyclic voltamperometry.

Synthesis of Cyclopentadienyl Capped Polyethylene and Subsequent Block Copolymer Formation Via Hetero Diels‐Alder (HDA) Chemistry

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that RAFT-HDA ligation can be effectively employed for the generation of block copolymers containing poly(ethylene) segments and can lead - depending on the blockCopolymer type - to the occurrence of retro Diels-Alder processes.

Shear-Aligned Block Copolymer Monolayers as Seeds To Control the Orientational Order in Cylinder-Forming Block Copolymer Thin Films

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors study the dynamics of coarsening of a cylinder-forming block copolymer thin film deposited on a prepatterned substrate made of a well-ordered blockcopolymer monolayer and show that the bottom layer remains undisturbed during annealing and acts as a periodic external field that stabilizes the orientation of those domains that share its orientation.

Polymer-Stabilized Micropixelated Liquid Crystals with Tunable Optical Properties Fabricated by Double Templating.

TL;DR: Beyond the mere stabilization of patterns, these results demonstrate that the incorporation of self-organized NLC patterns offers some unique and unconventional applications for anisotropic polymer networks.

Ordered mesoporous molecular sieves synthesized by a liquid-crystal template mechanism

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of mesoporous inorganic solids from calcination of aluminosilicate gels in the presence of surfactants is described, in which the silicate material forms inorganic walls between ordered surfactant micelles.

Block Copolymer Thermodynamics: Theory and Experiment

TL;DR: Block copolymers are macromolecules composed of sequences, or blocks, of chemically distinct repeat units that make possible the sequential addition of monomers to various carbanion-ter minated ("living") linear polymer chains.
Journal ArticleDOI

Block Copolymers—Designer Soft Materials

TL;DR: The Knitting Pattern as mentioned in this paper is a block copolymer that was discovered by Reimund Stadler and his coworkers and reflects a delicate free-energy minimization that is common to all blockcopolymer materials.

Ultrahigh-Density Nanowire Arrays Grown in Self-Assembled Diblock Copolymer Templates

TL;DR: A simple, robust, chemical route to the fabrication of ultrahigh-density arrays of nanopores with high aspect ratios using the equilibrium self-assembled morphology of asymmetric diblock copolymers is shown.
