Crystalline molecular flasks

TLDR
The principles, development and applications of crystalline molecular flasks, solid-state crystalline networks with pores within which pseudo-solution-state reactions can take place, are described.
Abstract
Crystalline networks containing empty cavities can host a variety of molecules but also promote reactions between guests. Through robust crystallinity and a pseudo-solution state (dynamic movements) within their pores, these crystalline molecular flasks enable the direct observation of species — including unstable intermediates — during a reaction by in situ X-ray diffraction.

Chiral Self-Sorting of trans-Chelating Chiral Ligands upon Formation of PdII Complexes

TL;DR: In this article, the cover image shows two dissymmetric bis(3-pyridyl) ligands based on a planar chiral pseudo-ortho-disubstituted [2.2]paracyclophane scaffold.

Chiral self-sorting behaviour of [2.2]paracyclophane-based bis(pyridine) ligands

TL;DR: Two constitutionally isomeric chiral bis(pyridine) ligands based on planar chiral 4,15-difunctionalized [2.2]paracyclophanes were synthesized, the respective enantiomers were separated via HPLC on a chiral stationary phase, and their self-assembly behavior upon coordination to palladium(II) ions was studied with regard to chiral self-sorting effects.

New class of phosphine oxide donor-based supramolecular coordination complexes from an in situ phosphine oxidation reaction or phosphine oxide ligands.

TL;DR: A one-pot, multicomponent, coordination-driven self-assembly approach was used to synthesize the first examples of neutral bridging phosphine oxide donor-based supramolecular coordination complexes.

Behavior of binary guests in a porous coordination polymer

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the aggregation state of binary guests, poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), and long-chain normal alkanes, in subnanometer channels of a porous coordination polymer (PCP) by monitoring their thermal transition behaviors.
