TLDR
The principles, development and applications of crystalline molecular flasks, solid-state crystalline networks with pores within which pseudo-solution-state reactions can take place, are described.Abstract:
Crystalline networks containing empty cavities can host a variety of molecules but also promote reactions between guests. Through robust crystallinity and a pseudo-solution state (dynamic movements) within their pores, these crystalline molecular flasks enable the direct observation of species — including unstable intermediates — during a reaction by in situ X-ray diffraction.read more

Two-Component Self-Assemblies: Investigation of a Synergy between Bisurea Stickers
TL;DR: It is shown here that mixing aromatic bisureas with slightly different structures can yield surprisingly large synergistic effects, and a strong increase in viscosity is observed when a b leisurea with the sterically demanding 2,4,6-trimethylbenzene spacer is combined with a bisurea bearing no methyl group in position 2 of the aromatic spacer.

Modulating the reactivity of chromone and its derivatives through encapsulation in a self-assembled phenylethynylene bis-urea host
TL;DR: In this article, the photoreactivity of a series of chromones, also known as benzo-γ-pyrones, by absorption into a porous self-assembled host formed from phenylethynylene bisurea macrocycles was investigated.
