TL;DR: This population-based cohort study of routine care indicates similar or better effectiveness and safety with NOAC compared with warfarin treatment, and NOAC was associated with fewer intracranial bleeds, but more gastrointestinal bleeds.

TL;DR: Relying on bleeding risk assessment using modifiable bleeding risk factors alone is an inferior strategy for predicting atrial fibrillation patients for major bleeding and decision curve analysis clearly shows that HAS-BLED had better net benefit of predicting major bleeding compared with the European score.
