Multi-faceted investigation and modeling of compaction parameters for road construction

TL;DR: In this paper, compaction parameters for road construction were investigated and modeled in multi-faceted investigated and analyzed by using SPSS software program statistical analyses were performed on the experimental test results.

Behaviour of eccentrically loaded shallow foundations on granular soil

TL;DR: In this paper, the bearing capacity of square footings is investigated and an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model is developed to estimate reduction factor (RFs) for settlement of shallow foundations.

A normalized equation of axially loaded piles in elasto-plastic soil

TL;DR: Based on the elasto-plastic soil model, a set of normalized equations of axially loaded piles are established in this article, and it is found that the curves of normalized load-characteristic value of piles or normalized settlement characteristic values of piles are distributed in a range and bounded by two lines.

Comparison of different finite element model updates based on experimental onsite testing: the case study of San Giovanni in Macerata

TL;DR: The goal of this work is to illustrate a methodology to integrate the information derived from local, global, and geotechnical investigations into the finite element model of the masonry historical church of San Giovanni in Macerata, considering the Douglas–Reid model updating method.

Application of the Program PCSiWaPro ® for the Stability Analysis in Earth Dams and Dikes Considering the Influence from Vegetation and Precipitation— A Case Study in China

TL;DR: In this paper, the water content and geohydraulic processes in the saturated and partially saturated soil area were simulated using the simulation program PCSiWaPro® and the simulation results of several scenarios both in the laboratory and in the field in China clearly demonstrated the impact of building materials and construction on the behavior of water saturation and thus the stability of the dam.
