TL;DR: The first thiourea catalysed asymmetric [3+2] cycloaddition reaction between azomethine imines and malanonitriles was developed and hybrid molecules containing N,N-bicyclic pyrazolidinones fused with enaminonitrile were synthesized in good yields with excellent enantioselectivities.
