Immobilization of xylanase on glutaraldehyde activated aluminum oxide pellets for increasing digestibility of poultry feed

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reported covalent immobilization of xylanase by response surface methodology on glutaraldehyde-activated aluminum oxide pellets, which showed an increase in optimum temperature (from 50 to 60°C) and V max (from 3333.33 to 5000 IU/mL) in comparison with free enzyme.
Journal ArticleDOI

Applications of enzymatic and non-enzymatic methods to access enantiomerically pure compounds using kinetic resolution and racemisation

TL;DR: Different methods to access enantiomerically pure compounds were discussed in this article, where a number of methods to obtain enantiomorphic pure compounds have been proposed, including the one described in this paper.

Oxidation of phenolic compounds catalyzed by immobilized multi-enzyme systems with integrated hydrogen peroxide production

TL;DR: A novel multi-enzyme biocatalyst that has been immobilized on agarose-type carriers to oxidize phenols using oxygen and formic acid as indirect oxidants and can use a broad range of redox cofactors with similar oxidative effectiveness.

Efficient Agaricus bisporus tyrosinase immobilization on cellulose-based carriers

TL;DR: A systematic study of the covalent immobilization of Agaricus bisporus tyrosinase on man-tailored cellulose-based carriers with different pore structure and functionalization showed that DEAE-Granocel with the largest mean pore diameter can offer highly active preparations with a monophenolase (L-Tyrosine) and diphenol enzyme activity immobilization efficiency of over 34% and 24%, respectively.

Glutaraldehyde: behavior in aqueous solution, reaction with proteins, and application to enzyme crosslinking.

TL;DR: An overview of glutaraldehyde as a crosslinking reagent is given by describing its structure and chemical properties in aqueous solution in an attempt to explain its high reactivity toward proteins, particularly as applied to the production of insoluble enzymes.

A serine protease triad forms the catalytic centre of a triacylglycerol lipase.

TL;DR: The X-ray structure of the Mucor miehei triglyceride lipase is reported and the atomic model obtained reveals a Ser .. His .. Asp trypsin-like catalytic triad with an active serine buried under a short helical fragment of a long surface loop.

A model for interfacial activation in lipases from the structure of a fungal lipase-inhibitor complex

TL;DR: It is proposed that the structure of the enzyme in this complex of R. miehei lipase with n-hexylphosphonate ethyl ester is equivalent to the activated state generated by the oil–water interface.
