Time-of-flight medium energy ion scattering study of epitaxial Si/Si 1-x Ge x superlattice structures

TL;DR: In this article, the ability to determine structural and compositional information from the sub-surface region of a semiconductor material has been demonstrated using a new time-of-flight medium energy ion scattering (ToF-MEIS) system.

Bimodal Energy Distributions in the Scattering of Ar+ Ions from Modified Surfaces at Hyperthermal Energies

TL;DR: In this article, the mass and energy resolved ion-scattering spectrometry was used to study collisions of Ar + ions with three different surfaces, and the authors interpreted the low energy loss peak as due to the interaction of the Ar+ ions with the self-assembled monolayer surface acting as a bulk surface.

Surface spin polarization in Fe(110) and Ni(110)

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetism of Ni(110 and Fe(110) surfaces was investigated by electron capture spectroscopy and it was shown that minority electrons have a higher density of states at the Fermi energy than majority electrons.

Nitrogen interactions at metal surfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, the interaction of N-atoms with Ag(1 1 1) is studied, and it is shown that the electronic state of the incident atoms is very important in the interaction.

Solar Wind Proton Interactions with Lunar Magnetic Anomalies and Regolith

Charles Lue
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate two aspects of the interaction between the Moon and the solar wind, namely the interaction of the Moon's magnetic field and the Sun's solar wind.

The theory of atomic collisions

TL;DR: The perturbation theory has been applied to many-body problems and applications, such as electron collisions with atoms, collisions between atomic systems, nuclear collisions, and certain aspects of two-body systems under relativistic collisions.
