One-year supplementation with a grape extract containing resveratrol modulates inflammatory-related microRNAs and cytokines expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of type 2 diabetes and hypertensive patients with coronary artery disease.

TLDR
Preliminary evidence is provided that long-term supplementation with a grape extract containing RES downregulates the expression of key pro-inflammatory cytokines with the involvement of inflammation-related miRs in circulating immune cells of T2DM hypertensive medicated patients and support a beneficial immunomodulatory effect in these patients.

Novel insights of dietary polyphenols and obesity.

TL;DR: Animal studies strongly suggest that commonly consumed polyphenols described in this review have a pronounced effect on obesity as shown by lower body weight, fat mass and triglycerides through enhancing energy expenditure and fat utilization, and modulating glucose hemostasis.

Antioxidant effects of resveratrol in the cardiovascular system

TL;DR: The antioxidant effects of resveratrol (3,5,4'‐trihydroxy‐trans‐stilbene) contribute substantially to the health benefits of this compound and are more likely to be attributable to its effect as a gene regulator.

Resveratrol and Cardiovascular Diseases.

TL;DR: The discussions on potential beneficial effects of RES in CVDs should compare the results of preclinical studies with those of clinical trials, and difficulties in the interpretation of results arise from the use of high-dose RES supplements in research studies, whereas low RES concentrations are present in red wine.
