QCD corrections to the Drell-Yan mechanism and the pion structure function

TLDR
In this article, the authors compute the differential cross section dσ/dQ2 dy for lepton pair production up to first order in the strong coupling constant α s. They show that, in the region where the theory applies and where the statistical accuracy of the experiments is good, the ratio of the QCD correction to the Drell-Yan cross section is approximately constant.

Parton Distributions for LO Generators.

TL;DR: This work investigates a wide variety of processes, and the new modified LO* PDF works at least as well as, and often better than, both LO and NLO PDFs in nearly all cases.

The calculation of the second order soft and virtual contributions to the Drell-Yan cross section

TL;DR: In this article, an order α s 2 correction of the K-factor in the Drell-Yan process is presented. But only contributions due to soft and virtual gluons have been taken into account.

Vector Boson Production at Colliders: A Theoretical Reappraisal

TL;DR: In this paper, the Drell-Yan mechanism was applied to the production of vector bosons in hadron-hadron collisions via the transverse momentum and rapidity distributions of the produced bosons.

Measurement of the inclusive W and Z production cross sections in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV with the CMS experiment

S. Chatrchyan, +2250 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a measurement of W and Z production cross sections in pp collisions at 7 TeV is presented, where electron and muon decay channels are analyzed in a data sample collected with the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 inverse picobarns.

The method of regions and next-to-soft corrections in Drell–Yan production

TL;DR: Focusing on the contribution to the NNLO Drell–Yan K-factor arising from real–virtual interference, the method of regions is used to classify all relevant contributions up to next-to-leading power in the threshold expansion, and the origin of the soft-collinear interference which breaks simple soft-gluon factorisation at next- to-eikonal level is identified.

Perturbation Theory and the Parton Model in QCD

TL;DR: In this article, the naive parton model can be modified to include the effects of QCD interactions to all orders in perturbation theory, which requires that the mass singularities in quark and gluon inclusive cross sections factor into universal functions.
