TLDR
Theoretical and experimental work concerned with dynamic fluctuations has developed into a very active and fascinating subfield of mesoscopic physics as discussed by the authors, which can be used to obtain information on a system which is not available through conductance measurements.

Numerically exact full counting statistics of the energy current in the Kondo regime

TL;DR: Ridley et al. as mentioned in this paper used the inchworm Quantum Monte Carlo method to investigate the full counting statistics of particle and energy currents in a strongly correlated quantum dot, and demonstrated the signature of a crossover from Coulomb blockade to Kondo physics in the energy current fluctuations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bosonic superfluid transport in a quantum point contact

TL;DR: In this paper, a microscopic theory of heat and particle transport in a bosonic superfluid point contact is presented, which is different from traditional, fermionic superconductors, such as Ohm's law obeyed in DC transport and odd-order harmonics in AC transport, as well as breakdown of the Wiedemann-Franz law.
Journal ArticleDOI

Power, Efficiency and Fluctuations in a Quantum Point Contact as Steady-State Thermoelectric Heat Engine

TL;DR: By demanding a non-zero power production, in the linear regime a stronger TUR can be formulated in terms of the thermoelectric figure of merit, and this bound holds also in a wide parameter regime beyond linear response for the QPC device.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electronic quantum optics beyond the integer quantum Hall effect

TL;DR: In this article, the analogs of two seminal quantum optics experiments are considered in a condensed-matter setting with single-electron sources injecting electronic wave packets on edge states coupled through a quantum point contact.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sensitivity Limit of Nanoscale Phototransistors

TL;DR: In this paper, the optical gain mechanism in phototransistor detectors (PTDs) is explored in low light conditions and an analytical formula is derived for the physical limit on the minimum number of detectable photons for the PTD.

Transition from metallic to tunneling regimes in superconducting microconstrictions: Excess current, charge imbalance, and supercurrent conversion

TL;DR: In this paper, the Bogoliubov equations were used to model the transmission and reflection of particles at the tunnel junction of normal-superconducting micro-constriction contacts, and a simple theory for the $I\ensuremath{-}V$ curves of normal superconducting contacts was proposed to describe the crossover from metallic to tunnel junction behavior.
