Ultra-high dispersion of graphene in polymer composite via solvent freefabrication and functionalization

TLDR
It can be confirmed by looking at the statistical results of the filler-to-filler distance obtained from the digital processing of the fracture surface images that the various oxygenated functional groups of graphene oxide can help improve the dispersion of the filling and that the introduction of large phenyl groups to the graphene basal plane has a positive effect on the disp immersion.

Fabrication of conducting composite sheets using cost-effective graphite flakes and amorphous styrene acrylonitrile for enhanced thermistor, dielectric, and electromagnetic interference shielding properties

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used cost-effective graphite flakes (GFs) as conducting filler and amorphous poly (styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (PSAN) as an insulating polymer to fabricate a CCS via a simple mechanical mixing and hot compression molding process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of VIPS fabrication parameters on the removal of acetic acid by supported liquid membrane using a PES–graphene membrane support

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used a hybrid polyethersulfone (PES)-graphene membrane prepared by vapor induced phase separation (VIPS) to remove acetic acid by supported liquid membrane (SLM).

Morphology and properties evolution upon ring-opening polymerization during extrusion of cyclic butylene terephthalate and graphene-related-materials into thermally conductive nanocomposites

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the thermal conductivity before and after in-situ ring-opening polymerization of cyclic butylene terephthalate into poly (butylene terphthalate) in presence of graphene-related materials (GRM).
Journal ArticleDOI

Polyaniline/graphene nanoplatelet nanocomposite towards high-end features and applications

TL;DR: Graphene nanoplatelet is a graphene derivative consisting of few graphene nanosheets as discussed by the authors, which is an elite conducting/conjugated polymer widely used to form the nanocomposites.

Electric Field Effect in Atomically Thin Carbon Films

TL;DR: Monocrystalline graphitic films are found to be a two-dimensional semimetal with a tiny overlap between valence and conductance bands and they exhibit a strong ambipolar electric field effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

The rise of graphene

TL;DR: Owing to its unusual electronic spectrum, graphene has led to the emergence of a new paradigm of 'relativistic' condensed-matter physics, where quantum relativistic phenomena can now be mimicked and tested in table-top experiments.

Synthesis of graphene-based nanosheets via chemical reduction of exfoliated graphite oxide

TL;DR: In this paper, a colloidal suspension of exfoliated graphene oxide sheets in water with hydrazine hydrate results in their aggregation and subsequent formation of a high surface area carbon material which consists of thin graphene-based sheets.

The Determination of the Elastic Field of an Ellipsoidal Inclusion, and Related Problems

TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that to answer several questions of physical or engineering interest, it is necessary to know only the relatively simple elastic field inside the ellipsoid.

Large-Area Synthesis of High-Quality and Uniform Graphene Films on Copper Foils

TL;DR: It is shown that graphene grows in a self-limiting way on copper films as large-area sheets (one square centimeter) from methane through a chemical vapor deposition process, and graphene film transfer processes to arbitrary substrates showed electron mobilities as high as 4050 square centimeters per volt per second at room temperature.
