Mindfulness facets were shown to be differentially correlated in expected ways with several other constructs and to have incremental validity in the prediction of psychological symptoms.
Abstract
The authors examine the facet structure of mindfulness using five recently developed mindfulness questionnaires. Two large samples of undergraduate students completed mindfulness questionnaires and measures of other constructs. Psychometric properties of the mindfulness questionnaires were examined, including internal consistency and convergent and discriminant relationships with other variables. Factor analyses of the combined pool of items from the mindfulness questionnaires suggested that collectively they contain five clear, interpretable facets of mindfulness. Hierarchical confirmatory factor analyses suggested that at least four of the identified factors are components of an overall mindfulness construct and that the factor structure of mindfulness may vary with meditation experience. Mindfulness facets were shown to be differentially correlated in expected ways with several other constructs and to have incremental validity in the prediction of psychological symptoms. Findings suggest that conceptualizing mindfulness as a multifaceted construct is helpful in understanding its components and its relationships with other variables.

Predicting individual differences in mindfulness: The role of trait anxiety, attachment anxiety and attentional control

TL;DR: This article found that trait anxiety and attachment anxiety, but not attachment avoidance, were negatively predictive of mindfulness, and there was evidence of a partial mediation effect of attentional control on the association between anxiety and mindfulness.

Pilot Controlled Trial of Mindfulness Meditation and Education for Dementia Caregivers

TL;DR: Although mindfulness was not impacted by the intervention, there were significant correlations between mindfulness and self-rated mood and stress scores, and both mindfulness and education interventions decreased theSelf-rated caregiver stress compared to the respite-only control.

More than mindfulness: When you have a tiger by the tail, let it eat you.

TL;DR: Some of the key ideas in mindfulness-based psychotherapy and research are radically different from our cultural (and perhaps human) assump... as discussed by the authors The matters discussed in the target article are important.

Group mindfulness-based therapy significantly improves sexual desire in women.

TL;DR: Mindfulness-based group therapy significantly improved sexual desire and other indices of sexual response, and should be considered in the treatment of women's sexual dysfunction.

Not all mind wandering is created equal: dissociating deliberate from spontaneous mind wandering

TL;DR: The results revealed that deliberate and spontaneous mind wandering were uniquely associated with some factors of the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire, and showed that conflating deliberate and spontaneously mind wandering can result in a misunderstanding of how mind wandering is related to other traits.

Alternative Ways of Assessing Model Fit

TL;DR: In this paper, two types of error involved in fitting a model are considered, error of approximation and error of fit, where the first involves the fit of the model, and the second involves the model's shape.

Comparative fit indexes in structural models

TL;DR: A new coefficient is proposed to summarize the relative reduction in the noncentrality parameters of two nested models and two estimators of the coefficient yield new normed (CFI) and nonnormed (FI) fit indexes.

The Benefits of Being Present: Mindfulness and Its Role in Psychological Well-Being

TL;DR: Correlational, quasi-experimental, and laboratory studies show that the MAAS measures a unique quality of consciousness that is related to a variety of well-being constructs, that differentiates mindfulness practitioners from others, and that is associated with enhanced self-awareness.
