Mindfulness facets were shown to be differentially correlated in expected ways with several other constructs and to have incremental validity in the prediction of psychological symptoms.
Abstract
The authors examine the facet structure of mindfulness using five recently developed mindfulness questionnaires. Two large samples of undergraduate students completed mindfulness questionnaires and measures of other constructs. Psychometric properties of the mindfulness questionnaires were examined, including internal consistency and convergent and discriminant relationships with other variables. Factor analyses of the combined pool of items from the mindfulness questionnaires suggested that collectively they contain five clear, interpretable facets of mindfulness. Hierarchical confirmatory factor analyses suggested that at least four of the identified factors are components of an overall mindfulness construct and that the factor structure of mindfulness may vary with meditation experience. Mindfulness facets were shown to be differentially correlated in expected ways with several other constructs and to have incremental validity in the prediction of psychological symptoms. Findings suggest that conceptualizing mindfulness as a multifaceted construct is helpful in understanding its components and its relationships with other variables.

Trait mindfulness in relation to emotional self-regulation and executive function

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the relationship of trait mindfulness to indices of mood, executive functions, and emotion regulation in 153 university students of both genders aged 18-30 years, who completed a questionnaire battery consisting of the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS), Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales (DASS-21), Negative Mood Regulation (NMR) scale, Frontal Systems Behavior Scale (FrSBe), Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS-11), Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20), and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification

Experiential Avoidance in Clinical and Non-Clinical Samples: AAQ-II Portuguese Version

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors adapted and validated the Portuguese version of the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire II (AAQ-II), which measures Psychological Flexibility/Inflexibility, central components in acceptance and commitment therapy, and assessed the psychometric properties of this scale in both general population and clinical samples.

Exploring the Relationship Between Mindfulness and Cardiac Perception

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the relationship between mindfulness and interoception (measured via cardiac per- ception) and found that mindfulness practice does not simply work by improving cardiac perception accuracy but does increase confidence.

Alternative Ways of Assessing Model Fit

TL;DR: In this paper, two types of error involved in fitting a model are considered, error of approximation and error of fit, where the first involves the fit of the model, and the second involves the model's shape.

The Benefits of Being Present: Mindfulness and Its Role in Psychological Well-Being

TL;DR: Correlational, quasi-experimental, and laboratory studies show that the MAAS measures a unique quality of consciousness that is related to a variety of well-being constructs, that differentiates mindfulness practitioners from others, and that is associated with enhanced self-awareness.
