TL;DR: The key phenotypic measures of the “Retrospective Criteria of Long-Term Treatment Response in Research Subjects with Bipolar Disorder” scale currently used in the Consortium on lithium Genetics (ConLiGen) study are reported.

TL;DR: Evidence is provided for a negative association between high genetic loading for SCZ and poor response to lithium in patients with BPAD, suggesting the potential for translational research aimed at personalized prescribing of lithium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical factors associated with lithium response in bipolar disorders
Sarah Sportiche,Pierre A. Geoffroy,Clara Brichant-Petitjean,Sébastien Gard,Jean Pierre Khan,Jean-Michel Azorin,Chantal Henry,Chantal Henry,Marion Leboyer,Bruno Etain,Jan Scott,Frank Bellivier +11 more
TL;DR: Only three factors previously identified as predictors of lithium response significantly differentiated the response groups identified in the sample, and it can be hypothesized that they may represent a shared underlying factor or dimension.
Journal ArticleDOI
Childhood trauma and mixed episodes are associated with poor response to lithium in bipolar disorders
Bruno Etain,Mohamed Lajnef,Clara Brichant-Petitjean,Clara Brichant-Petitjean,Pierre A. Geoffroy,C. Henry,Sébastien Gard,Jean-Pierre Kahn,Marion Leboyer,Allan H. Young,Frank Bellivier +10 more
TL;DR: Reliable predictors of response to lithium are still lacking in bipolar disorders (BDs), however, childhood trauma has been hypothesized to be associated with poor response to Lithium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Circadian genes and lithium response in bipolar disorders: associations with PPARGC1A (PGC-1α) and RORA.

Schulze,Thomas G. Schulze,Stéphane Jamain,Stéphane Jamain,Cynthia Marie-Claire,Cynthia Marie-Claire,Frank Bellivier +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a pharmacogenetic study on the core clock genes in two independent samples suffering from bipolar disorder (BD) and thoroughly characterized for their Li response was performed, which indicated genetic associations between Li response and these two close biological partners: PPARGC1A and RORA involved in circadian rhythms and bioenergetics processes in Li response.
