Interventions for treating sexual dysfunction in patients with chronic kidney disease
Mariacristina Vecchio,Sankar D. Navaneethan,David W. Johnson,Giuseppe Lucisano,Giusi Graziano,Valeria Saglimbene,Marinella Ruospo,Marialuisa Querques,Emmanuele A. Jannini,Giovanni F.M. Strippoli +9 more
TL;DR: PDE5i and zinc are promising interventions for treating sexual dysfunction in men with CKD, and evidence supporting their routine use in CKD patients is limited.
Journal ArticleDOI
Meaning of empowerment in peritoneal dialysis: focus groups with patients and caregivers.
Amanda Baumgart,Amanda Baumgart,Karine E. Manera,Karine E. Manera,David W. Johnson,David W. Johnson,Jonathan C. Craig,Jonathan C. Craig,Jenny I. TL;DR: Patients' and caregivers' perspectives on the meaning and role of patient empowerment in peritoneal dialysis are described to enhance satisfaction and outcomes in patients requiring PD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lessons learned in posterior cranial vault distraction.
Gregory P.L. Thomas,Steven A. Wall,Jayaratnam Jayamohan,Shailendra Magdum,Peter G. Richards,Akira Wiberg,David W. Johnson +6 more
TL;DR: The protocol has evolved with experience to favor a reduced latency period and consolidation phase and the use of 2 distractor devices, and is an effective procedure in the management of severe brachycephaly or turribrachycePhaly but has associated risks.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ionic and metallic clusters in zeolites
Peter P. Edwards,Martin R. Harrison,Jacek Klinowski,Sunramanian Ramdas,John Meurig Thomas,David W. Johnson,Catherine J. Page +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, Na43+ ionic clusters, probably located inside sodalite cages, are formed when zeolite Na+-Y is exposed to Na or K vapour and K43+ cluster when K+ Y is exposure to the vapour of Na and K, but Rb43+ cannot be observed (by e.g. spectroscopy) using Rb+Y under comparable conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of aminoglycosides for peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis does not affect residual renal function
Sunil V. Badve,Carmel M. Hawley,Stephen P. McDonald,Fiona G. Brown,Neil Boudville,Kathryn J. Wiggins,Kym M. Bannister,David W. Johnson +7 more
TL;DR: Empiric treatment with aminoglycoside for peritonitis was not associated with an adverse effect on RRF in PD patients, and the slopes of RRF decline were similar in patients treated and not treated with at least one course of aminglycoside.
