Journal ArticleDOI
Intraclonal heterogeneity and distinct molecular mechanisms characterize the development of t(4;14) and t(11;14) myeloma.
Brian A Walker,Christopher P. Wardell,Lorenzo Melchor,Sanna Hulkki,Nicola E. Potter,David W. Johnson,Kerry Fenwick,Iwanka Kozarewa,David Gonzalez,Christopher J. Lord,Alan Ashworth,Faith E. Davies,Gareth J. Morgan +12 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the transition and transversion rates in the 2 subgroups are similar, suggesting that there was no specific mechanism leading to mutation differentiating the 2 groups, and results are consistent with a distinct molecular pathogenesis underlying each subgroup and have important impacts on targeted treatment strategies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Allopurinol on the Progression of Chronic Kidney Disease
Sunil V. Badve,Elaine M. Pascoe,Anushree Tiku,Neil Boudville,Fiona G. Brown,Alan Cass,Philip Clarke,Nicola Dalbeth,Richard O. Day,Janak de Zoysa,Bettina Douglas,Randall J. Faull,David Harris,Carmel M. Hawley,Graham R D Jones,John Kanellis,Suetonia C. Palmer,Vlado Perkovic,Gopala K. Rangan,Donna Reidlinger,Laura Robison,Robert J. Walker,Giles Walters,David W. Johnson,Ckd-Fix Study Investigators +24 more
TL;DR: In patients with chronic kidney disease and a high risk of progression, urate-lowering treatment with allopurinol did not slow the decline in eGFR as compared with placebo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epinephrine and dexamethasone in children with bronchiolitis.
Amy C. Plint,David W. Johnson,Hema Patel,Natasha Wiebe,Rhonda Correll,Rollin Brant,Craig Mitton,Serge Gouin,Maala Bhatt,Gary Joubert,Troy W. S. Turner,Sandra Whitehouse,Terry P. Klassen,Abstr Act +13 more
TL;DR: Among infants with bronchiolitis treated in the emergency department, combined therapy with dexamethasone and epinephrine may significantly reduce hospital admissions.
Molecular cell biology of androgen receptor signalling
TL;DR: It is likely that a complex, more over-arching, role for AR exists, as each AR domain co-ordinates a multitude of individual and vital roles via a diverse array of interacting partner molecules that are necessary for cellular and tissue development and maintenance.
