Journal ArticleDOI

An anatomically comprehensive atlas of the adult human brain transcriptome

TL;DR: A transcriptional atlas of the adult human brain is described, comprising extensive histological analysis and comprehensive microarray profiling of ∼900 neuroanatomically precise subdivisions in two individuals, to form a high-resolution transcriptional baseline for neurogenetic studies of normal and abnormal human brain function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transcriptional landscape of the prenatal human brain

TL;DR: An anatomically comprehensive atlas of the mid-gestational human brain is described, including de novo reference atlases, in situ hybridization, ultra-high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and microarray analysis on highly discrete laser-microdissected brain regions.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Allen Human Brain Atlas: comprehensive gene expression mapping of the human brain

TL;DR: The Allen Human Brain Atlas is a freely available multimodal atlas of gene expression and anatomy comprising a comprehensive 'all genes-all structures' array-based dataset of geneexpression and complementary in situ hybridization gene expression studies targeting selected genes in specific brain regions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improving reliability and absolute quantification of human brain microarray data by filtering and scaling probes using RNA-Seq

TL;DR: It is shown that RNA-Seq can be used as ground truth to assess the reliability of most microarray probes, remove probes with off-target effects, and scale probe intensities to match the expression levels identified by RNA- Seq.
