Journal ArticleDOI

Use of an expanded receptor model for personal exposure analysis in schoolchildren with asthma

TL;DR: The identification and apportionment of sources resulting in exposure to asthmatic children who attended a school in Denver, CO for children with moderate to severe asthma will support a subsequent investigation of the potency of air pollution sources on asthma severity in children and provide a better understanding of potential mechanisms of asthma exacerbation.
Journal Article

Regulation of synthesis and activity of the PLSTIRE protein (cyclin-dependent kinase 6 (cdk6)), a major cyclin D-associated cdk4 homologue in normal human T lymphocytes.

TL;DR: Increased accumulation of the protein and its activity begin before IL-2/IL-2 receptor interaction, suggesting that the cdk6-cyclin D2 complex might be involved in acquisition of the competent state in human T lymphocytes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Role of histamine in the pathophysiology of asthma: immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory activities of H1-receptor antagonists.

TL;DR: Findings suggest that there may be a role for second-generation antihistamines in treating asthma, with patient selection as well as dosing both important therapeutic considerations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Importance of the leukotriene B4-BLT1 and LTB4-BLT2 pathways in asthma.

TL;DR: Targeting of components of the LTB4-BLT1 pathway offers innovative therapeutic opportunities especially in patients with asthma that remain uncontrolled despite intensive corticosteroid treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

The importance and features of the distal airways in children and adults.

TL;DR: The importance of the distal airways for both children and adults with asthma, and better understanding of this area in both the pediatric and adult asthmatic populations, will lead to improved targeted therapy for allAsthma patients.
