Lor Randall,Andreas Ranft,Gwénaël Le Teuff,Keith Wheatley,Jeremy Whelan,Richard B. Womer,Odile Oberlin,Douglas S. Hawkins +42 more
TL;DR: In ES with pulmonary or pleural metastases, there is no clear benefit from BuMel compared with conventional VAI plus WLI, and four patients died as a result of BuMel-related toxicity, and none died after VAIplus WLI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Models of care for survivors of childhood cancer from across the globe : Advancing survivorship care in the next decade
Emily S. Tonorezos,Dana Barnea,Richard J. Cohn,Monica Cypriano,Brice Fresneau,Riccardo Haupt,Lars Hjorth,Yasushi Ishida,Jarmila Kruseova,Claudia E. Kuehni,Purna Kurkure,Thorsten Langer,Paul C. Nathan,Jane Skeen,Roderick Skinner,Nurdan Tacyildiz,Marry M. van den Heuvel-Eibrink,Jeanette Falck Winther,Melissa M. Hudson,Kevin C. Oeffinger +19 more
TL;DR: Findings indicate that among pediatric-age survivors of childhood cancer, resources are generally available, and a large proportion of survivors are seen by a physician familiar with late effects in most countries, and combining risk-based and patient-oriented solutions for this population is likely to benefit both providers and patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Which Factors Are Associated with Local Control and Survival of Patients with Localized Pelvic Ewing's Sarcoma? A Retrospective Analysis of Data from the Euro-EWING99 Trial.
Dimosthenis Andreou,Andreas Ranft,Georg Gosheger,Beate Timmermann,Ruth Ladenstein,Wolfgang Hartmann,Sebastian Bauer,Daniel Baumhoer,Henk van den Berg,P. D. TL;DR: The Euro-EWING99 trial provided a substantial number of patients with localized pelvic tumors treated with the same chemotherapy protocol and found no differences between patients with sacral tumors who underwent definitive radiotherapy and those who underwent combined surgery and radiotherapy in terms of local recurrence.
Journal ArticleDOI
PanCareLIFE: The scientific basis for a European project to improve long-term care regarding fertility, ototoxicity and health-related quality of life after cancer occurring among children and adolescents

Uitterlinden,Marleen H. van den Berg,Anne-Lotte F. van der Kooi,Marloes van Dijk,Flora E. van Leeuwen,Oliver Zolk,Daniela Zöller,Peter Kaatsch +62 more
TL;DR: The scientific basis of PanCareLIFE's studies is described, which will investigate the way that treatment impairs female fertility, by evaluating anti-Müllerian hormone levels and the underlying genetic susceptibility to loss of fertility.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic variation of cisplatin-induced ototoxicity in non-cranial-irradiated pediatric patients using a candidate gene approach: The International PanCareLIFE Study.
Eva Clemens,Linda Broer,Thorsten Langer,André G. Uitterlinden,Andrica C H de Vries,Martine van Grotel,Saskia F.M. Tissing,Lara Maier,Antoinette am Zehnhoff-Dinnesen,Oliver Zolk,Marry M. van den Heuvel-Eibrink +34 more
TL;DR: A polygenic model is proposed, which takes into account multiple interacting genes of the cisplatin pathway that together confer an increased risk of ototoxicity.
