Using gamification to support learning English as a second language: a systematic review

TL;DR: In this paper, gamification has been argued to be a fun and enjoyable method to support Learning English as a Second Language (LESL) and to ease the gap between students' learning and educational practice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Walking through Architectural Spaces: The Impact of Interior Forms on Human Brain Dynamics.

TL;DR: A mobile brain/body imaging approach recording the electroencephalogram of participants while they naturally walk through different interior forms in virtual reality (VR) revealed a strong impact of curvature geometries on activity in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC).
Journal ArticleDOI

Coating Strategies Using Layer-by-layer Deposition for Cell Encapsulation.

TL;DR: The applications of LbL cell encapsulation in distinct fields are discussed, including cell therapy, regenerative medicine, and biotechnological applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gelatin porous scaffolds fabricated using a modified gas foaming technique: characterisation and cytotoxicity assessment.

TL;DR: The results showed that gas foaming may allow the tailoring of the 3-dimensional structure of the scaffolds with an interconnected porous structure, in the preparation of viable tissue engineering scaffolds.
Journal ArticleDOI

To which world regions does the valence–dominance model of social perception apply?

Benedict C. Jones, +243 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that, while the valence–dominance model generalizes very well across regions when dimensions are forced to be orthogonal, regional differences are revealed when the authors use different extraction methods and correlate and rotate the dimension reduction solution.
