Interspecies modulation of bacterial development through iron competition and siderophore piracy
TL;DR: Genetic evidence is presented that confirms the role of the amc locus in the production of amychelin and in the inhibition of S. AA4, and results suggest that competition for iron via siderophore piracy and species‐specific siders can alter patterns of gene expression and morphological differentiation during actinomycete interactions.

TL;DR: Given the number of samples with detectable contaminants and the range between the more likely and more conservative scenarios of contaminant exposure, more research and monitoring of heavy metals (especially cadmium and chromium) and pesticide residues (especially chlorpyrifos) in raw CHMs are advised.

Bisandrographolide from Andrographis paniculata Activates TRPV4 Channels
TL;DR: Experiments show that BAA activates TRPV4 channels, and the possibility that activation of TRpV4 by BAA could play a role in some of the effects of Andrographis extract described in traditional medicine is discussed.
