Journal ArticleDOI

The structures of syringolides 1 and 2, novel C-glycosidic elicitors from Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported the isolation and structure determination of two bacterial signal molecules which elicit active plant defense responses using a combination of NMR experiments, biosynthetic arguments, molecular modeling, and X-ray chromatography.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pyridoacridine alkaloids from deep-water marine sponges of the family Pachastrellidae: structure revision of dercitin and related compounds and correlation with the kuanoniamines

TL;DR: The single-crystal X-ray diffraction of a novel alkaloid, stellettamine (15), together with long-range 1 H-13 C coupling constants obtained by inverse detection methods, and metal chelation studies have shown that the previously reported regiochemistry of the thiazole moiety of dercitin and four other related alkaloids has to be revised as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cloning and Heterologous Expression of Isocyanide Biosynthetic Genes from Environmental DNA

TL;DR: The isolation and characterization of the isocyanide-containing eDNA-derived antibiotic 1, its biosynthetic genes (isnA and isnB), the origin of the amine nitrogen atom, and the general outline of the biosynthesis of 1 are reported, which results in a triplet resonance for the carbon atoms, which is a hallmark of this functional group.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal and solution structures of an odorant-binding protein from the southern house mosquito complexed with an oviposition pheromone

TL;DR: X-ray crystallography and NMR 3D structures of OBP1 for Culex quinquefasciatus (CquiOBP1) bound to an oviposition pheromone (5R,6S)-6-acetoxy-5-hexadecanolide (MOP) complex are reported.
