Gene expression across mammalian organ development
Margarida Cardoso-Moreira,Margarida Cardoso-Moreira,Jean Halbert,Delphine Valloton,Britta Velten,C. T. Chen,Yi Shao,Angélica Liechti,Kelly Ascencao,Coralie Rummel,Svetlana Ovchinnikova,Pavel V. Mazin,Pavel V. Mazin,Ioannis Xenarios,Keith Harshman,Matthew Mort,David Neil Cooper,Carmen Sandi,Michael J. Soares,Michael J. Soares,Paula G. Ferreira,Sandra Afonso,Miguel Carneiro,James M. A. Baker,Simon Anders,Yong Zhang,Henrik Kaessmann +37 more
TL;DR: It is found that the breadth of gene expression and the extent of purifying selection gradually decrease during development, whereas the amount of positive selection and expression of new genes increase during development.
Journal ArticleDOI
Proposal for a unified classification system and nomenclature of lagoviruses.
Jacques Le Pendu,Joana Abrantes,Stéphane Bertagnoli,Jean Sébastien Guitton,Ghislaine Le Gall-Reculé,Ana M. Lopes,Stéphane Marchandeau,Fernando Alda,Tereza Almeida,Alves Paulo Célio,Alves Paulo Célio,Juan Bárcena,Galina Burmakina,Esther Blanco,Carlos Calvete,Patrizia Cavadini,Brian Cooke,Kevin P. Esteves +54 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that an international working group could coordinate the nomenclature of lagoviruses and any proposals for revision and be divided into two genogroups that correspond to RHDV- and EBHSV-related viruses, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transient decrease in blood heterophils and sustained liver damage caused by calicivirus infection of young rabbits that are naturally resistant to rabbit haemorrhagic disease
TL;DR: It is proposed that, although resistant to RHD, young rabbits infected by calicivirus may be long-term carriers of the infectious agent and, thus, become a major source of transmission of the virus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Severe leukopenia and liver biochemistry changes in adult rabbits after calicivirus infection.
Paula G. Ferreira,A. Costa-e-Silva,Maria João Oliveira,Emanuel Monteiro,Elisabete M Cunha,Artur P. Águas +5 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that severe leukopenia characterizes the final hours of calicivirus-induced RHD, hypoglycemia and cholestasis precede death of rabbits from RHD and the kinetics of liver enzymes allows an accurate prediction of the time of death of Rabbit haemorrhagic disease (RHD).
Journal ArticleDOI
Dwarfism and Altered Craniofacial Development in Rabbits Is Caused by a 12.1 kb Deletion at the HMGA2 Locus.
Miguel Carneiro,Dou Hu,John Archer,Chungang Feng,Sandra Afonso,Congying Chen,Congying Chen,José Antonio Blanco-Aguiar,José Antonio Blanco-Aguiar,Hervé Garreau,Samuel Boucher,Paula G. Ferreira,Nuno Ferrand,Nuno Ferrand,Carl-Johan Rubin,Leif Andersson,Leif Andersson,Leif Andersson +17 more
TL;DR: Overall, the results imply that small size in dwarf rabbits results from a large effect, loss-of-function (LOF) mutation in HMGA2 combined with polygenic selection.
