TL;DR: The updated taxonomy of the order Mononegavirales is presented as now accepted by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV).
Book ChapterDOI
Chapter 17 – Family Coronaviridae
TL;DR: Members of the family Coronaviridae are large, enveloped, single-stranded RNA viruses, with genomes ranging from 25 to 32kb and virions of 118–140nm in diameter and are notable for the large spike (S) glycoprotein that extends from the virus envelope.

TL;DR: The updated taxonomy of the order Mononegavirales is presented, with non-Latinized binomial species names replaced all paramyxovirus and pneumovirus species names, thereby accomplishing application of binomial Species names throughout the entire order.

Rapid emergence of novel antigenic and genetic variants of equine infectious anemia virus during persistent infection.
Olivia Salinovich,Susan Payne,Ronald C. Montelaro,K. A. Hussain,Charles J. Issel,K L Schnorr +5 more
TL;DR: The concept that equine infectious anemia virus is indeed capable of relatively rapid genomic variations during replication is supported, some of which result in altered glycoprotein structures and antigenic variants which are responsible for the unique periodic disease nature observed in persistently infected animals.
