Repeated inversions at the pannier intron drive diversification of intraspecific colour patterns of ladybird beetles
Toshiya Ando,Takeshi Matsuda,Kumiko Goto,Kimiko Hara,Akinori Ito,Junya Hirata,Joichiro Yatomi,Rei Kajitani,Miki Okuno,Katsushi Yamaguchi,Masaaki Kobayashi,Tomoyuki Takano,Yohei Minakuchi,Masahide Seki,Yutaka Suzuki,Kentaro Yano,Takehiko Itoh,Shuji Shigenobu,Atsushi Toyoda,Teruyuki Niimi +19 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the colour patterning function of pannier is conserved in the seven spotted ladybird beetle, Coccinella septempunctata, suggesting that H. axyridis’ extraordinary intra-specific variation may have arisen from ancient modifications in a conserved elytral colour patterned mechanisms in ladybird beetles.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Peltier effect in metallic CPP structures
TL;DR: In this paper, the Peltier effect in CPP-GMR structures was reported and compared to those of the Co/Au and Cr/AU interfaces. But, the results were limited to the case of small junction sizes.

Control of Carbon Deposition in the Free Space of Coke Oven Chamber by Injecting Atomized Water
TL;DR: In this article, the atomized water injection into the free space of coke oven chamber was studied to decrease the carbon deposits by controlling the atmospheric temperature, and three injection lances were installed among four charging holes.
