TL;DR: The results further emphasise the widespread distribution of Cryptosporidium amongst wild mammals in Britain, highlight the potential for transmission between host species and warn of the possibility of direct exposure for anybody using the countryside for professional or recreational purposes to previously unregarded sources of infection.

TL;DR: The purpose of the problem addressed is to design a nonlinear full-order filter such that the dynamics of the estimation error is guaranteed to be stochastically exponentially stable in the mean square.
Abstract: This paper deals with the filtering problem for a general class of nonlinear time-delay systems with Markovian jumping parameters. The nonlinear time-delay stochastic systems may switch from one to the others according to the behavior of a Markov chain. The purpose of the problem addressed is to design a nonlinear full-order filter such that the dynamics of the estimation error is guaranteed to be stochastically exponentially stable in the mean square. Both filter analysis and synthesis problems are investigated. Sufficient conditions are established for the existence of the desired exponential filters, which are expressed in terms of the solutions to a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The explicit expression of the desired filters is also provided. A simulation example is given to illustrate the design procedures and performances of the proposed method.

TL;DR: In this article, the residual stresses were determined in titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) and Inconel 718 samples produced using selective-laser-melting (SLM) additive manufacturing.
Abstract: Residual stresses play an important role for the structural integrity of engineering components. In this study residual stresses were determined in titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) and Inconel 718 samples produced using selective-laser-melting (SLM) additive manufacturing. The contour method and a numerical simulation approach (inherent-strain-based method) were used to determine the residual stress distributions. The inherent-strain-based method reduces the computational time compared to weakly-coupled thermo-mechanical simulations. Results showed the presence of high tensile residual stresses at and near the surface of both titanium and Inconel alloys samples, whereas compressive residual stresses were seen at the center region. A good agreement was seen between the results obtained from contour method and the numerical simulation, particularly 1 mm below the surface of the samples.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that small and medium-sized firms start using the research institutes with low information gap and gradually move on to high information gap services that often require more absorptive capacity.

TL;DR: Ricketts Hein et al. as discussed by the authors identified current areas of local food activity in England and Wales through the application of an Index of Food Relocalization, developed by using indicators related to the production and marketing of local foods products.
Abstract: Ricketts Hein J., Ilbery B. and Kneafsey M. (2006) Distribution of local food activity in England and Wales: an Index of Food Relocalization, Regional Studies 40, 289–301. Despite much interest in the relocalization of the food supply chain in England and Wales, it is unclear whether local food systems are more developed in some areas than others. The aim is to identify current areas of local food activity in England and Wales through the application of an Index of Food Relocalization. The Index is developed by using indicators related to the production and marketing of local food products and results suggest a complex geography associated with such activities.
